Is graal kingdoms really going for a downfall?

I recently came back to play for a while, and I have really not seen a problem other than the players who act like idiots, and run around say things like "peekay" and some other idiotic words. People act it out as if graal kingdoms is a game soo horrible nobody should play. If the staff are trying to fix the bugs, I think it would be better, since there are some I see once in a while. And this is to all you people who are about to argue with me, if its really so horrible why do you keep on playing, and to those of you who say "I basically quit this game" and just log on and do nothing, why are you there? Just taking up room, if you quit a job, you aren't just going to go back the next day and look like a fool.

The problem is that those "*****s" are easiest to spor, as they will shout the loudest and the sane players will be hidden behind them...

Actually... I don't think Graal Kingdoms is much of a downfall: It's got it's own common people, system, and atmosphere. What people argue mostly about it opionion-wise, whether Alchemy items should or not excist, or if people who has more then 1 event item should be able to get more, or not... Or whether Graal Kingdoms should be RP-oriented or not. You see, there is nothing wrong with the system, well, maybe a bug or two, but that's about it. The real problem is that the "*****ic" people fight with other "*****ic" people, making it all seem bad. In reality, the server itself is of a high standard, a little sloppy in the making but well made regardless. The only thing I see that WOULD help it, would be creating a twin sister for one type of player, and having the other server for another type. That would solve the average problem.

People have gotten so much exp from bugs over the past from cauldrons and such you wouldn't believe it. The random alchemy should of stayed. But now that they took it off, new players, even old players that were robbed by brad, cant get their berwean armour back... ;)

As for the Event items, they should never of been released. But you might as well just hand them out to everyone now. GK was not meant to be like this, not at all. Stefan was supposed to fix the bugs, and stuff when the players were testing it. But since so many people came on and offered to help and just kept playing he added the main.gmap and kept adding more and more until here we are now. A diamond that cost 14 plat in stores, costs 300, as an example. The game is ruined.

Agreed.
EAs have given the super rich people even more of an advantage, with -60 AC. Likewise with preparing weapons; people with +50 weapons deal 327453725 damage per hit. There's no point having an inferno sword, when you can prep a humble flaming sword, or having gold plate or something when you can prep bronze chainmail.

Yeah, lol. Ningnong has a ice flaming sword as his main weapon; what a leader :] (<3)...
Yeah but what about
Hammer/axe?
Mithrill?
FHOM
etc etc etc, graal kingdoms is boring now.

To people who don't have a lot of items and illegaly gained exp., GK is boring/unfair.

Mind explaining how that one works there, bud?

Satrek2000 03-01-2004 07:36 AM

GK isn't about items, it's about... not even roleplaying, but about having fun playing. That's where roleplaying comes in. Also, you don't need such highly enchanted or prepared items - and they don't keep others from playing. My items are EAed, but I don't fight anyway, so the best they can do for me is saving me from running. Nobody will ever get to complain that I'm too hard to hit, unless they try to pk me for no reason, but I don't think these people should complain about anything.
As they say, GK is what you make of it - it is not what your items make of you.

Depends on your definition of fun - of you want to "pwn" and pk, annoy people just for the sake of it, you're sure right. Still, you can have fun without what you've listed.

You mean I should switch servers if I have fun here?

Kaiser2 03-01-2004 06:06 PM

I agree with Satrek, you don't need super gear to have fun. Most of the gear I wear I have EA'd myself, except my Mith, which is an exception because I got it in a trade from a friend. Also, some of my gear isn't EA'd to as much as I can do it, but it is still powerful nonetheless. See, I never PK people, the only reason I have my gear and my Sorigs is to save my ass from PKers. (Stupid Sliq, tried to PK me for my Event Coins, thinking he could kill me with Lightning. HA! Your dagger sucks too, Oh no, you have made a tiny little slit in my sleeve, oh no no no, I'm going to cry now. Boo hoo hoo. </sarcasm>) See, you don't really even need powerful gear like that if you want to have fun. You can just as easily stay on P-mode and hang around and chat with your kingdom buddies, like I do (Though I'm on B-mode.) But if you really, really, really want to get uber-powerful and stuff, just level up and EA your gear or whatever.

You aren't seeing the point I am stressing:
Random Alchemy - Stefan never knew it was there nor did he know what it did. One of the debug staff told him what was happening and convinced Stefan to remove it.

Cauldron - The exp gained from a high level cauldron, a few people had one from making so much random alchemy, gave them alot of mental exp. I remember Zen got alot of mental exp from something, I think about books or something, I forget, but he was reset.

Event items - You might as well hand everyone these for nothing. So many people have them, and they are far too powerful. Jagen is to blame for this I think.

Then finally, there are the liers out there that say they lost items and stats due to a bug, and Stefan is kind enough to believe them and restore them, with what they never had. I even recall some staff who I will not name, give items to some -- alot -- of players.

The game is fun? I hardly think so, I played since the beginning, had all my items I wanted and was having fun, but ever since they were stolen, I quit bothering to play because I couldn't get my event items, rings, or even my house.

So I wonder how most of the new players feel, those that don't bug Mark, Chris, Wren, and all them others that have these powerful items for them. They don't have a chance to get them.

Stefan said a year or so ago, that he would fix the bugs, and release a new server for those who wanted to play there; updated server and bug-free to an extent. The old server wouldn't be updated and soon players would call it quits and migrate to the new server.
