How many files are in YOUR webgifs folder?
 

4,497 files in mine, says it takes up 30.4 MB. That's probably a lot less than people who play on more than one server.

*cough* trying to make a point that allowing some sort of control for subfolders for graphics wouldn't be such a bad idea *cough*

It would actually increase the files you use and the size of it :p. Since many servers use the same GFX it would be added multiple times.

Anyway on this laptop its only 15mb with 2,000 files.
On my desktop its 32mb with 4,560 files.

Delete the graphics frequently, I do.

I also have 2,180 ganis O_O not including the ones for my server in a seperate folder

That's one of the problems, sometimes you might want to go to fetch a graphic and it isn't there. Personally, I think that seperate servers should be given seperate folders.

Globalls have forced servers to name there graphics
Servername_graphic.png
But it's obvious that they just ignore them.

Hahahah i remember in an old graal folder (i moved to a new one for the reason below;) ) where i had like 5000 webgifs...i accidentally clicked "view as thumbnails" and because there were like 5k of them...well...i was never able to open that folder ever again XD

:o for my ganis folder I got, 7.18 MB 1,323 files.
For my swords folder I got 7.19 MB 923 files.
For shields I got 3.36 MB 907 files.
For heads I got 20.0 MB 5,346 files.

As well as the 40.1 MB in my webgifs as I mentioned earlier.

I like to keep my main webgifs folder nice and clean. Usually every few days I'll go through it and sort all the iamges into seperate folders for different servers. If I have no clue what server the image came from, I'll simply delete it.

Make it like..... possible to enforce on upload!!! That would make things much simpler. I still think that servers should be forced (have the ability) to somehow organize how their graphics (come to think of it, all files) are downloaded by the player. Sometimes it becomes annoying when you're looking for a weapon icon that isn't in the webgifs folder because it has sword in its name, or other things. That and the webgifs folder is just ridiculously oversized. How ridiculously large? Windows XP stops loading program icons for the files after about 3/4ths the way down. SUPREME GOD OF GRAAL (Stefan)!!! DO SOMETHING PLEASE!!!

I got 14,028 files... 86.9mb :o

My ENTIRE graal folder totals
427 MB (448,675,840 bytes)
35,038 files 334 folders
This includes stuff all the way back to 1999 or 2000 so its old old stuff - up to today and I don't realy play servers so most of its old, old, old stuff.

I know EoA did it... but I never saw it in the PW rules or anything...

and forcing servers to re-name all their webgifs could take a LONG time to do

I lost around 2-3 thousand files when i had to format in 2002. And yes I did play a lot of servers then XD! I went by size, not size on disk.
