Fighting game
 

Since I am not exactly worldly when it comes to playerworlds past and present I have a quick question.

Has a server ever implemented a tried an true 2D fighting system? I've been playing around with the idea for a while now. Having a Graal styled game akin to Street Fighter or King of Fighters.

Obviously, it would be unwise to base an entire server around the premise, it would probably fair better as a large mini-game on a server.

I feel like it could really have potential. There would be a list of pre-made characters, each with unique moves and specials. Players would make a game "server" inside the lobby. In the setup they could change game rules, such as teams, time limit, and match limit. When a second player joins they are presented with a character select screen and the game continues from there.

I'm fairly certain I could handle most of this, as far as NPCs go. Really, it's just a lot of graphic and gani work. It also has large room for expansion by adding in records, new characters, and new modes. Would any body really be interested in playing something like this?

Does it have one? I only briefly checked the server when it was released. I thought it only had games like CTF, etc.

I've thought of the idea before, I think it would be pretty cool.

Well, Zone doesn't have player-customizable games, but you have different classes. There's free for alls also so its not a real goal just fighting (I think)

Zone is more of a Unreal Tournament type of game, not like a 2d fighter.

It seems you are thinking of something a little different.

I am referring to fighting on a strictly 2D plane. You can only move left and right, up jumps, etc.

Seems like a great idea, I would definitely play it. I just came back from Reno, and I've been playing a whole bunch of 2D fighter games over there.

I would also play, seems like a good idea.

I wouldn't complain to a server dedicated to fighting, i'd love it :O!
