Picking a new Governor

I'm tired of this game. It's become a chore. I wish I never took it away from Ziro regardless of if people liked it or not. I can't do anything without getting lamed and people have way too many expectations of leaders now. I'm tired of everything about this game. Staff, players, gameplay. Please nominate people to be the next CP governor.

Oh no... I'm sad to hear that. :( I hope someone good is chosen.

GryffonDurime 02-13-2004 03:58 AM

Well frubjubulous day /sarcasm. Sorry to hear it Valder.

Crint_Eastawood 02-13-2004 04:21 AM

I nominate Denori

The entire graalian community is being driven into the ground... I don't understand why some people simply can't see that... It's ever so frustrating!

"Regardless of if people liked it or not"? Do you mean regardless if people liked what you did, or if people liked me? x.x Anyhow... yes, it is a big responsibility to be leader of a roleplaying group in a non-roleplaying game. That's why I thanked you personally when you took it away from me... it gave me time to play several other games during my free time (or rather....my non-free time as well, since i let my free/fun time go over time when I should be doing other things [things unrelated to the online world x.x]). But it was a responsibility I welcomed. I was trying to bring about a good roleplaying environment...and I did bring one around, but I wanted it to extend out beyond the crescent island :( That was the harder part. That's something that'll take lots of work. Personally, I don't think a democratic choosing of Governor will work too well. Look at it this way...let's say you're trying to decide who the new Pope (guy at the top of the Catholic church, ya know) will be...and it's done by a vote from the people. Well let's say 75% of the votes say it should be some Atheistic guy...and the votes are from atheists as well....then the other 25% want some really good Catholic guy who wants to crack down on all the bad things the church is known for in the media (you know what I mean...the crimes...), and those voters are all catholics who strongly have faith in their religion. You see why this vote doesn't work? The winners are against what the group is SUPPOSED to stand for...
It's the same situation here. Most of the community doesn't care much about RPing anymore....so they'll often vote in and support people who aren't that great for the RPing world...the non-RPers are dictating the RPing world into becoming non-RPing x.x

Valder, really sorry to see you leave. You were a good governor. Man, its hard for people to roleplay while being in a kingdom, if jerks in Bomboria just pk them. Or interest continually dips downwards. :/

I hope you can find a good replacement, don't necessarily choose the popular vote either. Choose someone who you know can roleplay very well, and lead that kingdom. I really hope it doesn't fall into the hands of an uninterested player who lacks the wanting to roleplay, or the pirate-y vigor required.

Though sometimes barely, from Pirate Crew to Crescent Pirates, the Kingdom has always held on to some good roleplaying and fun times. Always more fun than other kingdoms. :)

So, the critical choice of whoever becomes governor next, will require a lot of thought, and will be difficult, unless maybe, somehow awesomely a dark boat is sighted on the horizon, and docks on Crescent Island with a Ghost Pirate walking off.

I nominate Cyrin Cyrilin, he seems to have a good knowledge of CP.

If he makes it, I hope he puts an American player as second-in-command (currently that's the Vice Governor rank...maybe the name would change) because of time-zone issues...

Damix2 02-13-2004 05:47 AM

Yea, forgot Im home schooled so I'm home anyway when all the european players are on.

Valder 02-13-2004 05:56 AM

I don't want sympathy. Just please nominate people who'm you'll think will be a good leader.

Brad 02-13-2004 06:03 AM

I nominate Brad.

Crint_Eastawood 02-13-2004 06:09 AM

I un-nominate brad and myself and nominate Cyrin

DragonX 02-13-2004 06:14 AM

I say delete CP. Since Ghost Pirate left, it has been in the crapper. It just isn't the same without ghost pirate. Yes I left CP when GP left even though I was loyal all through 2k1 when GP took me under his wing and taught me about pirates and the like (and I loved it). Without him, there would be no PC or CP. So I say, in honor of him, remove CP and make a memorial or something. :megaeek:

Valder 02-13-2004 06:18 AM

I made Mark the gov because I know he will actually mold it into something and isn't lazy.
