I dont think you understood him correctly, he said his AOL is gone, which was where the e-mails were. So he can not change his password.

Well, he said his AOL program was deleted. Assuming that his billing cycle is not over, he should still be able to use his mailbox through Aol.com.

If he paid with PayPal then there will be a history of the transaction. Get the transaction ID and all other related info so the aacount ownership can be verified , then send it to Lyndzey and she can take care of it from there. BUT he has to do it you cannot do it for him, Lnydzey will not give out account info to anyone other than the owner of the account.

PS Just because the AOL program is deleted off his comp doesn't mean the emails are gone, they are still on AOL, log in off the web.

1) Website's retrieve password feature.
2) http://www.aol.com
3) Win.

Wow, AOL users really DO act like that :O!

BTW, this account that posted this thread is shared. It was in the past anyway.

Lyndzey 01-23-2004 11:38 PM

I will try and understand this to the best of my ability.

Your friend, David deleted AOL. How is he supposed to get online without AOL? Even if he did get a new provider, he should have thought "oh, maybe I should save that Graal password thing". And now you say that he deleted the notepad of the Graal password? Why would his dad delete that?

And why does he not have the paypal receipt?

And another thing, if he has a 5 letter password it is a custom made password which is only allowed through a paypal receipt. Plus, it is very hard to forget a custom password because the person chooses what it is.

So either your lying or you misunderstood your friend David.

I also lost my paypal receipt as I didn't really think I would be using it and now there is no way of getting it back.

I think there should be some other way of confirmation other then email addresses and paypal reciepts as they are often lost and what can you do after that has happened.

I resent your avatar but like your post it has nothing to do with the issue on lost passwords.

And what is wrong with my avatar? And is there something wrong with posting off topic?

Qwert616 01-25-2004 01:04 AM

I thought you could review your reciepts by logging into Paypal's website?

Your avatar is very queer and sprites fear into me when I look at it. Yes there is something wrong with posting off topic as it is just annoying and could possibly be against the rules.

The review only goes back a year so if you upgraded longer then a year ago it would not show.

So in all, there's nothing wrong at all with my avatar, and there is no rule against off-topic posting. If you do however want to blame someone for off-topic posting, blame the one I replied to.

WHIPENIE4 01-25-2004 04:39 AM

haha that is just oh so funny lol. my avater rocks though :p

You can. If you don't have your password to it, all you have to do is answer a security question and it will send it to your email. If you used a hotmail account with a paypal account, shame on you!

Fine, MOST. Don't make me slap out the "12 year old AOL users act like that" quote.

Lyndzey 01-25-2004 03:40 PM

Well...I also have AOL and have been using it for 5 1/2 years.

In my experience, the ones ages 9-12 are very much like the guy who explained the situation.

I have had PayPal longer than I have played Graal , you can get a complete history of PayPal. All you have to do is put in the dates you require to see. Try downloading your complete history. I have had Paypal since 1999 and I can still view all of my tranactions from the beginning. That is 100's since I first got PayPal for use with eBay and I used to like buy quite a few things. Go to the bottom option of the search looks like this..

From: / / To: / /
Month Day Year Month Day Year

Put in the desired dates you want to look at , you can also get the complete history of the account this way.

I have DSL and AOL. AOL is not that bad, I don't see what is wrong with having it. It's like having AIM with advanced features.

AOL as a connection is :(.

AOL as a service isn't bad.

Not to mention the program itself plays merry hell with memory.

I loved earlier incarnations of AOL. They changed settings they weren't supposed to...Tsk, tsk, tsk.

I wonder why I believe it's continuing such behavior? ;)
