Problems with Kingdoms

Bah, there are some serious problems with the tag system. People keep joining multiple Kingdoms which is causing chaos! Someone joins Dustari... then turn around and Join something like Kalaron and then they can use their Dustari tag to let EVERYONE inside of the Dustari exclusive levels. It isn't fair.

We need a new tag system. Integrate the systems, if someone is in one Kingdom, they are LOCKED OUT of joining other Kingdoms until they have their other tag removed.

Example: Someone is in Zormite and they want to secretly join Samurai so that they can have "the best of both worlds" and also act as a spy. Well, if a Samurai King tries to add the tag... oops it won't work! Which is good. It will help keep things in balance.

Also we need to be able to list our members somehow, it is hard to know "who is a member of which kingdom", it is a pain to have to type everything (and must be near the castle)

Why not give "tag adders" (like Kings) a special NPC that will let them add tags ANYWHERE not just near their castle.

Stefan please consider these ideas. If anyone has any opinions on how to make the Kingdom tag system better, please post it

There shouldn't be tags then. There should just be flags or something to tell people apart.

Yes there should be tags. It gives people a way to idenfity with their fellow kingdom members and a very easy way for people to tell who is in which kingdom.

Just like today, you see someone from the army walking down the street in their uniform, you automatically know they are in the army. That is what tags do, it really helps.

But people abuse the Kingdom system and join lots of Kingdoms which is unrealistic and very hard to keep track of. We need a way to regulate it.

This problem has to do with the recruiters..
they should be smart enough to look into the tag index of each kingdom to see if someoen is in one already

Asuka 06-18-2001 03:06 AM

okay listen...

anyone who can add/remove tags for Kingdoms knows this already.

Kingdoms use a special tag system, it DOES NOT USE THE GUILD MANAGER. Basically when you are near your 'tag helper' npc which is located near or inside your Kingdom castle, you can add tags using the following syntax:

add <kingdomname> <accountname> <nickname>
remove <kingdomname> <accountname>

if I wanted to add account name J786 to Dustari, with the nickname of Jules and the rank of Squire, I would type this

add dustari J786 "Squire Jules"

see? once you add, you can't "list" the members, they are just THERE. You can remove them, but only if you know their account name. There is no viewable database for your members.

All Kings are SUPPOSED to ask a new recruit if they are in any other kingdoms before they can join, but sadly they DON'T :( Not only that, but some people lie about it. That is why we need a new system

TCNDAN 06-18-2001 03:07 AM

well then it you should turn it into a normal tag
you are the ones who asked for special tag makers

turning it into a normal tag won't help enough, it would give us a list for each kingdom (which by the way we would have to search through tirelessly each time we wanted to add someone, not fun!) and it would take away the convenience we now have.

"you are the ones who asked for special tag makers" we need advice for how to improve the current system, not your smart @$$ comments. You can keep those to yourself.

TCNDAN 06-18-2001 03:19 AM

asuka, tirelessly?
ctrl+f = find

that would be less work than scripting it so they can only be in one kingdom at once
which you would probably need a flag for

if (celt) {unset celt; set dustari}
etc etc etc
would need to be added to your tag making NPC

Admins 06-18-2001 03:20 AM

Yes there should be ways of
listing members of the kingdom
and better in-game guild management,
may be also force the players
to more identify themself as
follower as the kingdom when
they want to stay in it instead
of only wearing the tag from time
to time. Of course people will not
to do it when they cannot really
identify with the kingdom. There
is still the idea of having different
weapons/items for each kingdom.
But that must be planned out to
not have unbalanced powers.

TCNDAN 06-18-2001 03:22 AM

And Asuka, stop complaining
you have the best/most stuff kingdom

nothing stops one of your members from abusing Samurai's..oh wait they have nothing!!!

STEFAN..FLAGS
read my previous post

TCNDAN: ummmmm no, using find would NOT be faster. And no it would not take long to add a few code modifications to provent people from joining multiple Kingdoms, is that too difficult for you to realize?

Stefan: Thanks for reading and understanding the problem, I hope we can work this out.

You are so disagreeable. That is what I have been saying since the beginning of this thread. And stop insulting me before you find yourself banned. That is not tolerated here.

TCNDAN 06-18-2001 03:33 AM

Dont threaten me. Dont pretend to be a moderator.

Asuka 06-18-2001 03:35 AM

I don't have to be a moderator to inform you about rule violations. And since I'm not a mod, it isn't a threat, is it?
