This post is geared towards the PWA Team since I want an official answer to this question.

Which graphics are we allowed to use from the official Graal servers?
By official, I mean Graal Classic, Graal Bomy Moon and Graal Kingdoms.

I have been searching the forums trying to find the exact information but I have not been very successful. I have only found bits and pieces on the forum but I have yet to find a good list of exactly what we can and cannot use.

Obvious I know we cannot use other PWS graphics but that is common knowledge and stealing which I assume most GFX people would naturally frown upon and it is against the rules anyway. This information should be of great help to the other GFX Admins working on PWS, so please give a detailed answer as soon as you can.

Classic, Kingdoms, and 2k1 are playerworlds too. Stealing from them is bad, so don't do it k? :)

It isnt stealing, if you have permission to use them...and that is his question, and it is a very good question I might add

That should be a yes, because you're distributing it to Graal, so it isn't stealing at all.

x.x You CANT use Classic's unless you have permission from the creator AND Kat. Kat mostly. UN took our Snow Tileset and Kat was furious. But i have seen some of your graphics Kyle, I havent found you till now, you are the Second best i have ever seen. keep up your good work

If I recall correctly Lance/Tseng aka the manager told me once that Stefan said you can use just about everything without permission some time ago when I saw G2k1 graphics on a PW or two.

Edit: Just heard, it's everything that came before the new bodies.

Graal Classic/The Adveture:
Just about everything is used on many servers (tile-set, bodies, some weapon images) but I believe the same policies for other playersworlds would apply for more recent things.

they can use the tileset/bodies/the stuff stefan made. just not our snow tileset, fall tileset, etc. they can't use anything Galdor has made without his permission or Kat will go off on you, and Kat is quiet but when you make him mad, boy you will have a few people on your butt :p he'll read this soon and give you a better answer

I am just curious as to what exactly we can and cannot use from the Graal servers. Obviously, I can make good graphics as the EoA screenshots show you but I wanted to clarify a few issues about usage rights of Graal graphics. I am sure this information would be of help to other GFX Admins like me since I was looking for any official usage rights about Graal graphics.

If you are wondering how come you haven't seen me on the forums even though my account is old is because my account was messed up for the longest time, back when I first registered, and I only got it working again once I became GAT Chief of End of Ages. I have been around Graal for a long time, even worked on the Graal Graphics Team some time ago in the past.

--Chris-- pretty much has it down, but he is on the global graphics team so that's not suprising. As for g2k1 - if you're not sure if it came before or after the new bodies, best to ask them.

Kyle - add spaces to your location so it doesn't distort your box...

I just noticed that location problem when I happened to browse the forums using Internet Explorer instead of Firebird. It looked just fine in Firebird so I assumed it would be the same in IE. I edited the location once I noticed it.

they aren't allowed to use Graphics that are newer, they can use our NORMAL tileset, our normal bodies, but the rest is restricted i believe, the stuff that comes with graal they can use, the stuff that doesnt is ours.... Ask Kat I believe I am right though.

This is a strange situation. Yes, a lot of servers use graphics from Classic, since Classic was the original, and these rules apparently weren't around in any way back then. Now, however, that has changed. Any NEW things uploaded to Classic should remain Classic's and not be used as a template (As Shaded Legend did with our snow tileset) for something of their own, or stolen. The old stuff, in the levels\gifs\ folder (Which is shared with servers on the same computer as Classic) is what people are using on their servers.

The only way I can really think of to tell whether or not something is NEW on Classic is to ask me or Com. Or maybe I could post a list of new images that exist on the server, as there aren't a great deal of them.

I'm just worried that Com uploaded new things to the gifs folder instead of a local folder.

Oh, sorry, I didn't even see that last part on what you said, Chris.

If anyone asks me about 2001 GFX I get them to check with Tseng as there is new stuff and its not that nice when all their new stuff is on every server straight away.
