Suggestion-Salvaging

Okay
I am suggesting.
Salvaging items.

Items that you make, with materials.
There should be an option to salvage it, to get all the items back you spent on it.
Like a bow, iron boards and gold.
You salvage it and you get the items back.

Simple.

I really am not understanding what UUUUUUU saaai uh nub

--Chris-- 01-01-2004 02:12 AM

I understand but maybe 1/4 what you put into it rather than all to force the player to actually get more and turning stuff into bows and whatnot just because they're lighter than large amounts of the material required to make 'em ;p

Lance 01-01-2004 03:19 AM

I like the idea. There could be an arbitrary amount for each item which is close to 1/3-1/2 of the materials you put into it.

GTXOO 01-03-2004 01:03 AM

yesh
If this is added, I hope it can be used everywhere.

Not going to some factory thingy and placing item on it and you get your items back.

Satrek2000 01-03-2004 02:01 AM

Hm... I like it. Maybe make it like this: if you craft something, and decide to 'uncraft' it on the spot, you get the full materials. After you used it at least once, you can salvage it anywhere to get 1/4 of the materials back. There would be a special smithery where you can salvage for 1/2 of the items. Maybe another option could be added, so that you can salvage 1/3 and 2/3 if you have the smithery skill.

Maybe also a cost like a few 100 plat to kill inflation <3 Hehe, it can work like the cleaning pond for weapons.

Sounds good - let's say two or three times the market value of the items plus the value of the full item to be dismantled?

Or make two options: total dismantle, no loss of minerals, or another option where there's a change of losing minerals.

Monkeyboy_McGee 01-03-2004 05:46 PM

You should do it so that like, there are set things that you will get back after dismantling it. For example, if you wanted to dismantle a strawberry cake, it would be impossible to get the flour, water and sugar back because they are for the most part used up and chemically bonded and wossname. You'd only get the strawberries back :D

Or like with the diamond blade, you wouldn't get your diamond back, because it's been ground up and smashed and mixed in with the other parts of the blade...or whatever.

This'd take a lot of work since you have to script set things for every single craftable item, or something like that, but it would probably be teh besto.

Who'd want to dismantle food? °°
I was thinking this system should only apply to tools and weapons...

Okay your ruining my suggestion and complicating it.

Let's just do what Lance said =/

Who the hell is gonna make a script that complicated?

Monkeyboy_McGee 01-04-2004 06:19 AM

I don't know chris, the best thing i ever managed to do with a script was make a graphic dissapear when you say something...how should i know how complicated my idea would be to script? ;) ;) ;)

And about the strawberry cake thing - maybe your stomach wants to dismantle it? XD

ps. it was just a suggestion
