Guys, would anyone want to revive New World?
If we got a big enough team I bet we could do it.

Well after speaking with you aim and knowing that you know what it was alike/about, I agree with your idea on getting a team and doing it. I know you, your a good developer and with some others you might just be able to do it. But instead of just getting *****s who can do stuff get knowledgeable staff who were familiar (possibly ex-staff) to help.

We could probably try to get a good team, then nominate a development moderator.

Hey, before you speak, think about what your saying. New world as a PLAYERWORLD buddy. This will just be a playerworld. If you don't like that, leave.

listen, bucko, you have no right to make even a playerworld with the name new world. much less try to revive the defunct new world. why you are even trying to do this when it is obvious that you don't have the capabilities to produce what was left behind by the former new world staff is beyond me. if you can't produce what the staff left behind, what in the hell makes you think you could amass the greatness that was sure to become of new world if the development staff would of continued?

if you want to make a playerworld, then do so. i am no going to prohibit you from doing so. if you want to make another game, then do so. i, again, am not going to forbid you to do so. but, i will do everything i can to make sure that you will not tarnish the new world name.

i don't even know why i am worrying about this. a higher admin will shut this down soon.

The newworld name tarnished itself by not finishing, we, in part are helping it by attempting to make a playerworld with the concept of New World. If you do not like it, don't participate in it, nobody is forcing you to participate. With some of the people volunteering, we already have a pretty nice team (3-4 people with a lot of talent) which isnt enough but a good start seeing as though that was within 5 minutes of thrah's first post.

Stop being so damned negative. Were you even on the team? And even if you were, I doubt you managed it.

this is the old new world... I don't think the team cares if you use that for a playerworld coz we dont use any of that old stuffs anymore =/. The new world team are having a little break right now and I don't know if Stefan still wants us lol
when i asked him he said "donno". I could ask the head programmer if its ok if you guys use the tiles from the old new world.

Oh wow really thanks ^_^. So we can use the stuff in that snapshot for the newworld revival?

Is it me or would the NW have looked better than the way graal looks today if the tilesets were finished? I like the player bodyies. =)

There is no problem in using New World content to make a new playerWorld, it's by far better than putting everything on Bench..

I should also have a backup somewhere if you need tiles or more..

Too many people worked on Newworld for it to be hoarded by a single playerworld.

Also: From what I know, the 'rules' of playerworld revival state you must have permission from the 'manager' of said playerworld, have you gotten Kyle0654's permission to use New World's content?

Graal Online owns all content that goes online their servers. This includes playerworlds, and projects they hosted like New World. That rule is just to make people do some work themselvs.

In other words, If Unixmad, or Stefan sais it's ok, then it is. From a legal standpoint anyway.

I do realize this. HOWEVER, case in point: read Spark's rules.

Besides, unixmad has not offered it to them directly yet anyhow.

Yeah could you post the nw tileset plz, I'm getting kind of tired of riping them from the screenshot for the revival.

What was New World that would make it so great? Besides the nice tileset and bodies, from the screenshot alone it looks like something you can do with your own playerworld, was it going to have totally different gameplay and neato features? I don't really know all that much about New World.

Well its like a broken record, we have the graphics, but we dont have the scripts or the storyline. I think we have decided like a mid age server 1700's, It would be great with those characters.
Im sorta using their tileset with tiles i have made myself. If we get some more levels and scripters we will be good.

i know that. i was planning on giving them all of them, but they zipped up to be 1.08mb which is too much to post on the forums. so i decided just to give them the one they would more than likely want.
