Vendetta
 

My server Vendetta:

Vendetta is italian for revenge. Vendetta will be a cartoonish modern-day server, but in Venice, Italy. Most houses in Venice Italy, are on a harbor. In Vendetta they are just like Venice. Our tileset is almost done, but still needs work. If you would like to see it please log on. The server is all in english, but there will be italian words in some places to go with the theme.

Some of our jobs will be:

Vinyards: Growing grapes and making wines.

Police: Will be in charge of jailing people, as usual.

Salesman: to sell boats, vespa's, houses.

Firefighters: We will have a system so houses will be able to catch fire. lol.

Resteraunts: You will be able to own your own italian resteraunt.

There will be more jobs to come when I have some free time to think.

Transportation:

Land:

The main transportation for land will be by Vespa (Italian scooter).
We wont have any cars, I dont want to be know as an Era-Rip.

Police officers will be the only ones with a gun. Police will have a motorcycle with a siren and all.

The only thing close to a car you will see is a firetruck.

Water

The transporation in the water will be by boat, or jet ski.

The public transportation by water will be by ferry.
Boats, Jet-Ski's will have to be purchased with Lira (Italian Currency)

For an event there will be boat races, there will be different types of boats, canoes, paddlers, speed boats, pontoons. etc.
If you win an event the prize will be in Lira.

Nice idea, I hope you do change your tileset a lot because it does need a lot of work...

Yeah, Its about 40% finished. I have a basic layout so far, but thats it. Im a huge nub at GFX, Im trying my hardest to make it look good, I could use help though. x.x

I love it, it's like a NES/SNES game.
Anyway, there sure are alot of modern sims like servers now.
Maybe one will actually go up.

Very creative idea, i'll pop on and check it out.

I really liked it, one suggestion on the water though? Make it lighter, as I thought it was pavement....(Maybe just me)

When you logged on did the NPC Server reset your account? If it didnt let me know, and ill fix it.

We could use some help, if someone wants to help please e-mail me. Hard to make all theese gfx and levels by yourself. lol

It would look much better if it were animated -- from what I can tell they are trying to do the effect of 'clear' water.

Wouldnt animated water lag? cause that would look really cool, cause when a boat goes by, it would be cool to see waves..

Thanks for the help. Nice work on the tileset for someone who isn't very good with graphics, but you do need someone to go over it and detail it better. I enjoy the NES look myself, but I'm pretty sure it wouldn't hold over very well with the rest of the Graal community.

The idea, while sounding a lot like GTA3, is interesting. I wish I could see how things look, but unfortunately, I can't seem to download the tileset or other images if any when I log on.

Heh, I have never done graphics before. But graphics people are so hard to find. :(

Becareful when you log on, it messed up my offline tiledefs. It hasn't only happened to me either... It's easily fixable, just a heads-up.

How so is she crazy? I am assuming you dont know the difference between fact and opinion.

The Tileset is either unfinished or just plain out Scarey. and her being crazy might be the fact she tryed to get a 15 year old to strip on the forums, or saying the tileset looked like an RPG when it looks like colors swirled around.

Sorry but it is the worst tileset I have ever seen in my life.

Can you make better? go hang yourself *****. And it is unfinished. And I have never made graphics before so its a first try. By saying this is bad, Era must be horrifying to you.

2. Yes I can do better and I suck at graphics but I can make them better then that.
3. Era doesn't look like they used the spray paint tool in MSPaint on there buildings.

Spanky has every right and privledge to say what he's said. I too think it's the most horrific tileset I've ever seen. And I don't know where you get off breaking the rules to tell him to commit suicide.

If you all think it sucks that bad, then there really is no point in continuing working on it.

Your logic is laughably backwards.

But guy, you dont understand, there is NOBODY who will make graphics. Everyone is lazy, so I do it myself, and everyone says it sucks and throws it down. I never made graphics before, thats what I said in the beginning. Its the best I can make. I dont need people telling me that it sucks. If I had a decent graphics person in the first place, I wouldnt be having this problem.

Kronan, why not just hire a Graphics Person? There are plenty to go around, either way you can find one better then yourself, I have learned that, on my Asteria project I hired Glub Glub, he is outstanding but for some reason I do believe he words on Bravo, cause our old Asterian tileset is none other then Bravo's new fresh Tileset, Yikeys. If Glub doesnt work on Bravo, they stole their tileset. but if he does, I don't care, Asteria wasnt submitted to the PWT and will never be, It is a big no no.

I do not believe anyone has a right to give critisism that isn't constructive.

There are plenty of graphics people around now, just go look for them. And they may be the best you can do now, but that doesn't mean you can't improve. On another note, would you rather us lie and tell you that your graphics are great? Having you live in ignorance with a false sense of competence?

Hmm, as constituted by the American bill of rights (or whatever it's called), then yes, they do. As to the privledge here on the forums... I think I will have to look into that, I might be incorrect.

Nonetheless. That was no reason to tell Spanky to go do away with himself.

Like I said earlier, Ive tried. There may be plenty of them around but the thing is NONE of them want to work.

People, all im asking is make comments on how we can improve Vendetta, not useless rants. If you make a negitive comment, please state a solution. (Why, and how we can improve it.)

Why buy the server without the proper staff?

Vendetta was Graal 3000, but we changed the name because nobody wanted another server with the pics1 anymore. And most of our staff that worked for Graal 3000, quit and bought their own server. This PW system is a killer..

When i first bought Graal 3000, we had levels based on, or replica's, of the old Graal3000 levels, and alot more. But as soon as i bought it, Kronan's External hard Drive crashed. It all went downhill from there. But, we did have the staff. The old overworld we had for Graal 3000 we about 60% finished.

As most of you may know, Graal 3000 was dead. Maby 3 players on at tops a day. We deceided to change name and get a new theme hoping for sucess. At first we were doing good.....Until this... Hell, we just need GFX and we will be all set. x.x

Besides "constructive criticism" being a self-cancelling word, get Photosohp of Paint Shop Pro. SOMETHING better than MS Paint.

Programs like PSP, or photoshop can make graphics making less tedious(sp), and more organized. Granted... But they can not help you make better graphics.

And watch the misuse of filters and gradients abound :)

Anyway, there are some rather good sprite turorials. I don't have the links anymore but google for them.

I dont use MS Paint. I use Paint Shop Pro 8

Adobe photoshop elements is best for people who are trying to learn gfx and very easy to use. I suggest you try and get hold of it.

I agree that the tile set isnt very good, but there is no need to give up. In time and in pratice you'll get better. I really suggest you try and edit the tile set already there instead of trying to create if from scratch. Slowly editing it bit by bit is alot alot easer and you still get a differnt look to the normal pics1 if that is what you are trying to do.
