New Playerworld - Currently Unnamed

Hello,

I'm making a new playerworld of my own that is currently unnamed and less than a week-old project. It is going to be extremely RPG-intensive containing an incredibly vast overworld (somewhere along 1500 levels). Here is some information.

Overview
========
This is an RPG-based playerworld set back in a semi-realistic time setting around the post-midieval period of time, with underlying fantasy contrasts such as magic. Various Kingdoms scattered all across the overworld house a variety of different players, political structures, buildings, and area-specific quests. Custom tilesets and numerous system functions not only redefine the graal engine completely, but neglect past playerworld conventions and introduces a new and stunning gameplay experience: Seasons/Weather/Time systems, Classes and Advanced Classes, Dungeons/Advanced Hunting Areas with intelligent baddies, Wildernesses, Graphical User Interfaces, Advanced Quests, Artifacts, Auctioning/Trading, Advanced Combat System, Magic System, Player Skills and Abilities, Player States, Weapons, Resistances, Advanced Guild and Guild War Systems, Player Villages, Portraits, Party System, New Messaging System, Roleplay Point Award System, Expansion Packs, Ambient Environmental Sounds, and brilliantly developed game music are all features that easily set this breathtaking playerworld above all others.
---

Other random features include advanced arcana items for high level magic subclasses, commodities, serverwide roleplays that encourage player interactivity and drive plots, and special quests that grant players an array of different awards.

Advanced baddies would include those such as Dragons that talk, regenerate, and are almost impossible to kill solo (thus encouraging players to team up into parties). Another baddie type would be the Beholder-kin, as observed in Forgotten Realms' games, possessing lethal spell like abilities that can rip a party of even 20 apart without the proper defenses employed.

Expansion packs is a new and original concept I came up with to outline large playerworld udpates which are roleplay driven. The first two have already been conjured and the details are being written now by myself and several other talented RPG writers: Reign of Blizzardnacht and Shadows of Lassumine. These two expansions bring new areas into the game for extremely high-level players as well as new quests, artifacts, and feats.

The playerworld contains complicated components that help fully insert the player into the environment from cooking on a stove to agriculture and alcoholism.

Player states from claustrophobia to hypothermia and hallucination definitely give a new experience of combat and even generic adventuring. Players can also catch colds and ascend to different planes of existence during death, bringing back messages from the immortals to their fellow primes, or being struck down for sharing such information.

The player stats and abilities system has been completely modified and restructured from the conventional Graal engine. Health systems, encumberance, endurance, strength, dexterity, intelligence, mysticism, constitution, and much much more outline the configuration of a character, which determines how they fucntion in thousands of different situations, primarily combat and overall adventuring.
---

This playerworld is optimized for Broadband users, minimizing lag, and will outlaw all trial and nonP2P accounts, to prevent "****s" from ruining the gaming experience of hardcore or simply more cultivated players. It also helps promote Graal to other gaming tangents, drawing more business. This world will be truely one of the most vast and breathtaking Graal has ever seen.

--

Over the past few days, I have secured several people and "pre-hired" them to come work until I can get the playerworld up (financial devistation prevents that currently)...

Current staff: Projectshifter, Emily, R0bin Darkrune, Kurrupted Dark Knight, Sheepiroth, Messiah, Gamin Ethride

Already, works have begun on extensive GFX and tilesets/GUIs.

Naturally, I am inviting the most oustanding developers and Graal to come and be part of this re-invention. All development positions are wide open. Please contribute to this massive project.

~Sincerely

Thanks for reading.

Sounds nice and all, but it's easier said than done, my friend.

seems extremely... deep. a project like this will take you 1 or 2 years. So be ready for the long haul.

btw, mind telling me what emily does?

Proteus_XP 12-01-2003 03:07 AM

Yes I know.

I'm not prepared to release it until early-mid 2005.

Oh and Emily does graphics and RPG development.

Sounds promising.

I like the concept of very strong monsters which you can't beat without a party, it definately encourages teamplay.

Why do you want to know what line of work i'm in on this server trevor?

And yes, this server looks very promising, the manager is great and is very mature and has tons of ideas and organization skills, he PM'd me asking me to join him in this project the other day, and with the right staff i'm sure this playerworld can be done.
But as still have to go with others on this one, Easier said then done.

It's human nature to be curious.

Uh, do you think i'm incapable of doing anything such as that?
Just because you dislike me does not mean i can't possess talent.

I feel like I've heard this premise before.

What the hell are you talking about?

I just told you why he asked. He was curious, it's human nature. Settle down. To quote one great cartoon character, "Don't have a cow, man!"

Proteus_XP 12-01-2003 05:29 AM

o.O

Can't we all just get along?
I think you're both cool people. :)

I'm not, making graphics and writing storylines isn't graal development.
