Tech Support

Hello and Welcome to the New Graal Online Tech Support Forum.

This is where you may post specific problems with GraalOnline Software or website errors. If your problem has been identified as a Bug in our website/Program(s) it will be moved to Bug Report.

This forum will be staff and community run. We need help from all members of the forum to help other users with problems.

Thanks For your time

Jessica Peterson

Sounds niftily more organized, and certainly interesting.
Seems pretty moderation consuming, though.

Spark910 11-25-2003 11:54 AM

This should be at the top with the 'General Forums' not the 'Development Forums'. It would be easier to see and find. And considering alot used to report bugs/ask for help in main forum it would remind them this forums section is here.

Lance 11-25-2003 12:13 PM

I disagree. This forum should not have been incarnated/renamed/whatever in the first place. Directing people to post problems in another section (this one, rather than the graal main forum) detracts from the amount of people who'll read (and, presumably help as well) them.

Angel argues professionalism, but I argue efficiency of getting problems solved.

Thought 11-25-2003 06:37 PM

I thought we had that support panel anyway?

Loriel 11-25-2003 06:46 PM

I think it was a good move to rename this forum, although it would certainly be more useful in the general section. It does not really fit into one category with gani crafting and the like either.

Well People will look here now for issues they may have looked to the main forum to solve.

CheeToS2 11-25-2003 08:20 PM

I've seen people mistaking this for the 2002 bugs forum a lot lately; maybe it needs to stand out more.

zell12 11-25-2003 11:24 PM

I think this catagory should be deleted, and Bugs Forum open. This is just the same as going to help desk, as Stefan, Unixmad, and Tyhm will help you with your questions. (Unixmad mainly business questions)

Read what I said a bit more clearly and you'll find that I'm talking about people solving them, not about people looking for a solution.

konidias 11-27-2003 12:32 AM

Oh come now guys, you know Angel can do everything.

Am i wrong or i felt a little bit of ignorance on your message?

zell12 11-27-2003 01:48 AM

And a dash of sarcasm.

How would you feel ignorance from that message?

Sometimes sarcasm is considered ignorance, it seems you envy Angel.

zell12 11-28-2003 12:22 AM

Well, angel is a GM, doing the website, some Third-party software for Graal (Messenger), the GuildCP, and now being a Super Mod. I believe that what he means by his sarcasm is that she cannot handle her workload and finish her projects at a acceptable rate.

if she can handle everything, there is no problem, and it seems she is going good.

I'm not a GM, I do some GM work but I'm not a GM.
Robert is the guy doing the website, Not Me
I dont do third party software, Not much pointed if no one would use it.
Again Robert.
Yep I'm a supermod and going to do my best :).

I have my job my friends and graal, I have no problem fitting it in, So dont worry about me, I got it handled ;)

(PS: I think you PMed me but your inbox is full, I tried to reply the second it came in but your Inbox is full, will try resending in a few moments, Thanks)

zell12 11-28-2003 01:54 AM

It wont send me notifications to tell me, so i'll clean it out.

You say this, yet you say you have no time to talk on aim. You've replied like a half hour later saying "I'm busy" then you sign off, then you come back the next day and I message you again, and you sign off aim, or you go on away.

You used to have time to at least talk with me for two minutes.

This has nothing to do with envy Osrs. Why would I envy her supermod job? I was admin of these forums and I chose to quit, so what envy would I have? "Oh wow, I wish I was a lower position than I was before I decided to quit!" That makes no sense at all.

I'm mainly just concerned that this is a pet project Angel has decided to take on at the spur of the moment, and yes, it was a quick decision, because she barely ever posts on the forums, until just recently when Kai quit.

I just don't find it fair that with her connections she can get jobs she hasn't worked for, when I think someone like Kamuii would be MUCH better suited to be a supermod. He's been here forever, he's worked hard, and then you know what Angel told me? She said "Well if he works hard, he will get where he wants to be some day" or something along those lines. WHAT?! This just shows how inactive she is at the forums. Kamuii does great things here, and Angel doesn't even know it.

She's turning into Unixmad.

Tyhm 11-28-2003 06:31 AM

Um, how dare she have priorities?
She has responsibilities to Graal, and she fulfils them. Often at the cost of talking to you on AIM. She doesn't have a responsibility to chat with you, thus I think she's got them in the right order, however insulted you are that you rank lower on the priority list than deleting spam.

zell12 11-28-2003 06:59 AM

Tyhm, I agree with koni. I don't see why Angel, as much as I like her, get to be supermod, when she rarely even posts. Kamuii was my thought of who was getting supermod as well. I just think that Angel should stick with scripting and such.

Why did she have no time before to talk to come here, but now all of a sudden, she does and gets the job. Because she talks to Stefan and Unixmad.

Heck, all the people that get to talk to them get jobs or special rights, take a look at Tseng and Jagen for example.

Idea: Some people are responsible and actually do a good job.

marcoR 11-28-2003 08:16 AM

I respect Lance, I've seen him do his stuff. I guess I respect Jagen.. I've only seen a small portion of his. I've yet to respect Angel, because she is new to the GMing XD

zell12 11-28-2003 05:35 PM

I never seen anything made by Tseng on GK. I've seen a few things, plus Hotaru by Jagen. Angel has a post count per day of like, 0.98? So why is she forum moderator, why couldn't someone more experanced be it? :) I like Angel, don't get me wrong, but i'm just wondering.

osrs 11-28-2003 05:56 PM

I won't express my opinion on who should be super moderator because it will result in nothing.
I just misunderstand you then, konidias, sorry. (But that message was a little ignorant)

Admins 01-11-2004 12:53 AM

I guess we need some mod for this forum, someone needs to start posting the validated bugs in the bugs subforum

To Mod the Forum or answer tech questions or both?

Also I have been on the Forums much longer than Angel and Moonie for that matter, you don't see me complaining about them being SuperMods. Being on the Forums for a long time does not quailify you for a higher position..

Hevaricubed 01-11-2004 02:31 AM

I allways try to help people when they have problems, but my gold runs out in 19 days and im busy in school at the moment.

hey i have an idea, why doesnt tyhm do it? ;)

[edit] like hes supposed to. [/edit]

I mean to put the validated bugs/problems into the bugs forum because the bugs subforum was made for that
like 'I have a fresh XP installation with Gforce2 and Graal is not working' -> install the latest Nvidia driver

Hevaricubed 01-23-2004 03:27 AM

Just let someone -RESPONSIBLE- have access to that sub forum, to post bug fixes found in the tech forum.

Loriel 07-18-2004 12:18 AM

How I understand the current system, people post problems in here and once we figure out how they are fixed, a moderator moves the thread into the bug reports forum and highlights the solution.

I propose to rename this forum back to Bug Reports, and to rename the sub forum to Solutions, but to actually make new threads inside there linking to and linked from the problem threads in this forum. That way appears simpler and more accessible to me.

I second that.

Spark910 07-19-2004 12:50 AM

The only person who could really answer the Qs in Stefan alot of the time, so I agree bug report, as this is far from tech support.
