War Strategy
Ok, here is my 2 cents...
you have Priests in the back, providing healing for others... then you have mages and archers, for long-range support and siege... then up front, you have fighters... now, once the enemy reaches the fighters, the archers go to close combat weps and the archers and mages flank the enemy. the fighters still fight and the priests still heal... once there is little ammounts of enemies left, the priests go to attack prayers and close off the last exit, thus sealing the enemy in a trap the leaders can be in the back with priests providing long-range or healing, up front atacking, or just not there, but you need soembody there to order the attacks... in this strategy, i have combined all-out warfare and flanking. Plus, this would more-or-less likely work, IF you have enough players on... |
Your strategy didn't include "owners".
These are people that have all the uber leet event items, and simply plow through the entire army, killing them all in few hits. Then, they fight each other, and it just basicaly turns into duel involving 5 or 6 people. |
Maybe this would be a good plan for war if people on GK were like the Valikarlian RPers...in the sense that they actually RP. Untill RPing is actually good around the GK world, I don't plan to have a war based solely on the statistics of players; we're not like "guilds" on classic servers which are just like clans in other games with clanwars. We're an RPing kingdom, anyone on tag should be RPing, and if they talk OOC they should use parenthesis for it no matter where they are in-game (if they feel it is ridiculous to "have to RP" in certain areas, they can get off tag or just quit all together). I realize this is a problem since so many people have trouble understanding simple concepts of RPing; I'll try to establish some kind of RPing help within our kingdom soon.

Mine is better ;)
AND IT HAS AN IMAGE! The black line is the line of advancement. Archers and priest dont cross that line unless told to do otherwise. In which the Priest run in while the archers keep a hail of fire. Then the Archers can be ordered in. -- You always put your strongest on your right flank to quickly surround the enemy Medicore on your left because you want to keep that flank up Weakest in the middle... because you want them to fall back but not retreat. If they fall back then the enemy will be surrounded in the center. The Calvary can do what it wishes... It can be hit and run mages or something. Doesn't matter. Mages fit in the army, priest, and calvary sections -- If you dont wanna download bmp... get someone to convert it because I'm too lazy to. |
Why make it so difficult? Get around 5-6 strong mages, and make them cast some bullet storms and walls. Then they back off, and let the archers kill. If someone passes the walls, fighters are there to catch 'em up. And the mages can keep casting spells etc.

I would rather my enemy to flee and regroup then to die. Formations shows your strength... and strategies show your dicipline. If you combine the two then noone will face you (as long as you win the first few battles) |
