Sketch of a person

I made this sketch the other day of a friend of mine. It's based on her actual appearance and stuff... Tell me what you think:

I already showed a few people but I figured I'd post it here for the heck of it. :P This is the first time I've put pencil to paper to draw for quite a few months.

I like everything about it besides the well, err... blurred lines? I'm more fond of sharp pencil drawings. But nice work.

Looks good :D

I wouldn't call it a sketch o.o but it's nice anyway :D (sketches are usually rough concepts)

I dunno, I have alot of problem with art... usually if I just forget about line placement and just start drawing it comes out better, try doing that next time you start sketching... you use pencil so that you can fix stuff later ;)

I suppose it's suppose to be cartoony XD
If this is so, then sure, I like =)
I want to see more REAL life drawings.

Really good. The (?erased\white?) spaces are a little wierd the way they are in there but overall it is a nice looking picture. Does seem a little blurred though :\ .

Most likely because he scanned it which distorts the image a little bit. Anyways, nice job. :)

The hair looks strange, as well as the right eye (looks a bit smaller than the other one, as well as the eye brow).

Maybe she got in a fight. Swelled eyes.

Well it's "blurred" looking, because I photo edited that to make it look more "smudgy" and I darkened it a bit because the scan came out light.

The eye is smaller on purpose actually. I was going to make it more off perspective, where she was kinda angled to where you see more of one side of her face than the other, but it kinda didn't end up looking that way, so oh well. :p

The original sketch isn't much different, just sharper and lighter by comparison. I'll attach it so you can talk a look anyway.

looks great :D myself I can draw people fine (sort of) but when it comes to making it look like somebody in particular....no...
the only part that you definetly could have done better was the hair on the sides (on top looks fine) all the lines going vertically dont work =/

LegendaryAzreil 11-07-2003 02:42 PM

I think the original one looks better. :D

Muha_builder 11-07-2003 07:51 PM

mm i really like it.
but the right eye is al little off in shape its should be slightly bigger, but if you make the right eye somewhat bigger you will have to lift the left side of the right eye aswell *edit*there is not really any point in lifting the eye you wont see any diffirence*/edit*, i really like the eyes they look alive
