Lets make Rules of War!
Lets like make some rules for war for kingdoms. Because wars are more fun if there are rules. Post your ideas in the following format
<Number> - <Title of Rule> <Description of Rule> <When to be enforced> ex 1 - Officer Mercy Officers are not to be targetted for attack unless engaged by that officer. Perferably officer vs officer. During any battle with officers 2 - Starting Talks The COs (Commanding Officers) meet in the middle of the battlefield to discuss terms to avoid war During Open Field Battle and Formal Battle 3 - Formal Battle and Informal Battle Formal Battle is usally during Open Field Battle when both sides line the field and exchange morale boosters untill a charge is given. Volleys may be fired during this time. Informal Battle is random attacks without honor and strategy. So post your ideas and other items for consideration. Then we'll make a big book for the kingdom leaders to sign. |
4 - Winning a War/Battle
Subtract the number of your casualties from the number of enemy casualties; if the number is positive, you have won. Every Battle. |
Thanks a lot Zurk, now I'm tempted to have Judges like in FFTA.

Cease Fires are draws... noone wins. But if I attack a field covered in Malenth dudes and they kille five of my men and I kill two of them but they retreat. Then I hold the landmass.. Explain how they would win o.o, because I'm holding the land and they're running away. |

How about Points?
The First team to get 100 points wins? Think of it like this: each unit you kill racks up certain points for your kingdom. For instance: Soldiers=10 Points CO=15 Points General=20 Points King/Queen=50 Points (Can only be killed once) Of coures, you should probably make like an NPC that tallies the points, kinda like in Graal Kingdoms. When you start a war, each kingdom turns on the War Switch (Or whatever you want to call it), and on their nicks, after their kingdom name, you see the point total of the kingdom, represented like this: <X>, where X is the number of points the kingdom has. Wars would be alot shorter then in the past, but you could respawn, and there wouldn't be so much hassle about stopping wars in mid battle, and screaming (YOU LOOSERS! YOUR RESPAWNING! WE WIN BY DEFAULT). And as you noticed, the King would only be able to be killed once for points, as it would be to easy of a win if you could just find the King and kill him over and over again. Of course, you can do that anyways, you just wont get points for it. Just a thought, it would be alot more organized, and maybe even more fun! |

I was about to comment on that...
Yeah, I was about to edit my post and make it 200 points.
100 points would be a little to fast. 200 points might be a bit better, but you also have to take into consideration that annoying as hell Respawn room. But 200 points might make them a little longer, but I wouldnt want to fight a two hour long war, it would get a wee bit boring. |

hmm...
Good point.
Say like a normal skirmish: 100 points. A Battle for control of a nuetral part of land: 300 Points A Battle for enemy controled land: 500 Points A Battle to serverly wound/injure/annilate the enemy: 1000 points I mean, obviously, your not going to send alot of troops out for a simple skirmish. A battle to control neutral land, your going to send more out. If your defending/taking enemy controled land, your going to be having ALOT more troops. And if your going to deal a crushing blow, your going to go all out. And each point value would be doubled or what not (Maybe 1.5) for battles when more then one kingdom are invovled. Such as a 2 on 2, or 1 on 1 on 1 Battle Royal, or 2 on 1 battle. |
CO and Generals are one in the same... So that wont work.
and points wont work too good. I think warfare should take place when like two Commanding Officers (COs) lay down war flags, noone except other kingdoms can join in. And when you die then you cant enter the field (prolly like a 3x3 level square?). These warflags will disipate in like... 10 mins or so. Then of course... wars should be planned in advance, well battles should. Atleast two days before. Because kingdoms only attack others when THEY're the strongest. This would allow the maximum ammount of people to enter the field and to have VERY good wars (like the line battles stated above). Then maybe staff could lay the war flags instead of the COs in the specified area. But then there are the instances where the Special Task Force will sneak into the castle and kidnap the King's son and hold him randsome. |
