RC with Wine

R0bin has figured out how to get his RC to run using Wine, and wrote up some howto that I am mirroring explaining what he did.
It does not work for you but some of you might consider it useful :)
R0bin wonders what other dlls are used by RC, to perhaps fix his remaining problems

ehh, it kind of works.. but I had to use this command instead:

WINEDLLOVERRIDES="comctl32,riched32;shdocvw=n" wine RemoteControl.exe

then it went through a bunch of.. crap, some percentage thing for fonts o.o.. & I got a million "fixme:hook:NotifyWinEvent (32772,0x1005e,-4,0)-stub!" messages (with different addresses).. but its working

[EDIT] I can't see the weapons list, playerlist, classes, or DB NPCs (I get the window, just no text) o.o

A good bottle of red wine :] and some Jimmy Buffet music to set the mood for a good night of banning accounts is how unixmad told me he likes to use the RC. ;)

I got fed up with some troubles with my nvidia drivers for my graphics card, so I just dropped the os and went back to Windows.

That's surprising. NVIDIA cards are some of the best supported. You could always dual boot man... :p
