Ahoy!

This is your Governor with news on an upcoming event. The event will be a roleplaying event. This means anyone can win regardless of stats, items, level, skills, spells, online time, etc. The event is scheduled for Saturday at 5:00 PM EST/2:00 PM PST. The person who shows the best RPing skills will receive a prize. You will have to wait to see the nature of the event. Lamer will also host another event during the weekend, so keep updated for that.

Specially as in many if the recent events, whether they relyed on strength or not, some of the higher-leveled players have won...

*meh* RPing has nothing to do with strength... sadly, everybody thinks RPing includes: :D ; ROFLKTHXBYE ; 0mG pwn7! ; LoL!; ect...

RPing WELL is a dying artform...going the way of the dodo...Only a few of us keep it going...

The problem is that you cannot judge rping skills objectively. There will always be people claiming they did better, even if only in their own perception. It is much easier to determin who's the better fighter - the one leaving the arena in a horizontal position certainly isn't. Still I'm not saying that there are no ways to incorporate rping.

That doesn't make sense. I can log off with a vertical direction and apparently be the best, yet if i "pwn" all and leave trough the gate i suck? Lame.

No, I meant it rather literally - the one who wins will be able to walk, i.e. move rather vertical (standing) than the defeated one, who the medics will carry outside, i.e. horizontal.

If you have not noticed, RPing is HORRIBLE on GK these days. People are allowed into kingdoms though they have NO idea what RPing means. Kingdom tags no longer represent anything relating to RPing. Though I make sure people can RP before letting them into CP, it is still fairly easy to tell who understands RPing better and does it better. Some people put more detail into their characters than others. There's other things also....it's just fairly easy to tell who the best RPer is when you're in a community of people who can't/don't RP much.

I did notice. But my point is that there are different opinions about rping, specially about any given sentence. Some will say it is good, some say it's bad, so it's in my opinion not easy to judge an event based upon that - not only with is as a base, anyway.

When is this event going to be held anyways?

:mad: Look at that date of the post. It should have been held already. It was canceled though because there was so much going on at that time (Graaloween goodies). The same event will still be held for the same prize (neither of which will be mentioned specifically, all the participants need to know is that it is an RPing event). A new thread will be made for this event when the time comes.
