What happened to it?

Did birdbird and ghost pirate just give up on it? It's a shame because it looked really good and promising.

It was cancelled.

There was a thread on it a while ago, lack of GFX.

And also Birdbird quit graal and Ghost Pirate got globally banned because of CC fraud that Toran supplied him with x_x..

Ghost Pirates account was closed for CC fraud or something I beleive. The had Garel a while back, he made some good space tiles and planets. Other than that, all they had was tiles and a gui.

I wish that they would have finished.. Or let people on lol

It hadn't shown progress a nor did it mention anything for a really long time. I wasn't surprised when it was cancelled.

Well, when I worked there Ghost Pirate gave me lots of stuff he needed. That's why I quit, too much at one time. I need to contact him again to see if I can use some of his ideas on my project. Hopefully I can find some development help for Vanguard as well. =/

2. They had a system, "spaceship" tiles and objects, a couple space ship templates, and space stuff (gas clouds, stars, planets etc etc.)
Everything was planned out, which I think a plan is the first step to any worthwhile project. Unlike some of these other servers.

The idea of traveling to other planets on a graal based engine was just badass, so I got really disappointed when I IMed some random person on the forums a few months ago and asked what happened to it and found out it got dropped.

I agree it was badass. :D Garel mad some sweet planets too.

Just cause Ghost had better ideas than you could ever make up doesn't mean you have to insult the bad parts :3

Heh I remember seeing 2230 once...The GUI was mad awsome...and so were the tiles and graphics by garel, birdbird, and ghost...I loved it. I got Tritans GUI design from 2230 (tritan died awhile back like 2 years ago x.x) But like yea they used light effects on theirs and this was when I was still learning graphics. Okay theirs was a lot differnt...heh i never got to make the beating heart that looked like it was pumping...mine is all pixeled as well but yea...*Goes to look for 2230 screen shots* it was amazing...

I actually saw it once... on accident when it first was released.
I don't remember how exactly, but I went on to see Jagen or something... and they didn't have the "disconnect" part added I guess.

It's not an insult... I was stating that 2230 wasn't completed enough to make people think it was promising... or even for a good example.

I don't see what's soo amazing about it. It looks about as good as any of the other highly anticipated playerworlds that are comming out now.

so it was the idea and anticipation of it.

The main reason they had to cancel was because of lack of graphics.

I'm pretty sure if they didn't scare people off with a horde of things to do and slowly gave them assignments it would of gotten a lot farther...

I already tried to revive the project, talked to Ghost Pirate and he said ok but i needed to talk to Jagen, but he said no. ;(
