Reviving GK
Uhh, is anyone going to try to help GK?
I mean kingdoms are for RPing, all people do is go around saying "I PWN OHTER KINGDOM U NUB!! LOL I LVl 7 I HIT BTTONS ALL DAY I PWN YU ALL!!!1oneone" It's so sick, there are barely any mature people on Kingdoms, people need to set limits, make kingdoms for RP only, i mean people try to RP and toalls or stuff, but they just ruin it by saying "THN I CUM N DEN PWN U ALL!!!!!11" It needs staff too, like RP admins to host RP events, not spars, and to help people. I just want to see some RP on kingdoms x__X It would get a much higher playercount, my friend Kara played it for a while, she was disgusted at all the people making immature masses, calling her stupid when she tried to RP, and how it's so unbalanced. Oh, and i'm just wondering, when GK is comlete, and the reset happens, will they reset everything? such as kingdom ranks, hours, houses, everything. |

Kingdoms has deteriorated greatly, of that there's no doubt. If you ask me, one of the problems is size- the kingdom lands and main island are quite large...and for the most part empty. Getting from one place to another is a very tedious activity, and that certainly dosent help RP.

Ed for Magic System Redevelopment
or GM... but that might be hard to do considering my activity on Graal dropped like a bomb... |
I'm proud to say that CP (Nation I wub) Rps :) I'll be opening up an RP pub too (With booze from NH) If anyone can donate to my building IM me at zalastri (All will be welcome, items will be for sale too, open house)

Haha, that was fun, eh i don't like CP anyway, only reason i was in it was because of Cece and tifa, i don't like it's style, i fit more for Dustari, but i doubt i get in, unless i use another character, yet they don't seem to allow that, what i did on Emily should not affect my other character.

Besides, size can be a good thing. If what we're going for is realism, who would expect to have everything crammed into one little peninsula? However, all of the kingdoms on the main island, and the five outer islands as outposts that can be captured, would be an awesome idea. |

I'm curious - what happened to all the additions that were announced a while back? Once, it was said that flying monsters would be added "in a few days," allowing cult monsters to be summoned, then pets would get special abilities... then what happened to forts which should increase activities between the kingdoms... and it's a shame to see all these suggestions filling their forum but never getting further than a wish list...
I'd like to know, officially, what is being worked on right now... I'd even offer to help, as good as I can, but I doubt anyone would concider that... |
I think leveling up should do more then just increase your HP. It takes a really long time to level up eventually but then all you get is extra HP...
|
I'd rather have more effects of the skill levels - physique increases your damage/wc, magic your mana and wisdom your grace, but what about agility and personality? I think personality should add to your charme, i.e. altering the prizes for your shopping, while agility would be great to add speed, weaponspeed and/or ac. Overall level also gives the ability to enchant items, but only every 10 levels, so yes, there could be more, but what?
|
i think the first priority of all those staffer should be finishing the forts on the old trading island, i think people would love it.

I'm just wondering, as Stefan announced flying pets/monsters months ago "in a few days" - I don't mean to push anyone, it'd juet be nice to be kept up to tade about what is being worked on.
|
Gah, just add two months to whatever date someone says =x
"Shifting Ages will be released during teh Summer" it's almost winter =x |
It's called playing on 2k1 when kingdoms are released because there are two forces which will enforce RP laws and create new laws to adapt to the ever changing rp eviroment.

Well, the big open spaces are good IMHO.
The only example i can think of to back this one up right now is quite a lame one, but it's sound. Think of Lord of the Rings, right...these midgets gather together a load of people and go on some world-saving quest. When they set out, they don't just pull out a ring called "Mordor Warpring" and jet off to the volcano thingy, do they? No, they set out on ponies and trek for a year or two or three (probably exaggeration) over big expanses of open land, mountains, forests, blah blah blah, encountering villains and monsters every now and then. And then when in book two two of the midgets get kidnapped by the badguys, the dwarf and the elf and the king don't just pull out their 6 RoTs and Minimap, looking for where the orc's heads are and zoom over there in 30 seconds, they follow trails and stuff taking them days and days to catch up. This is what RPing should be like, going out on quests, or staying at home and having tea, or bustling cities like Gondor or wassname. The big ol' open spaces add to the element of proper Roleplaying, whether it being a parade through main to celebrate the coronation of a new King, or marching across the continent of (example) Forest to confront their army, or fleeing from battle to hide in the trees 'cause you're losing the battle and your character wants to run for hsi life, or sending a scout out into the trees to FIND a big hidden army or a fleeing enemy. So i say thumbs up to the big open spaces :D RP is dead. the population is 90% PKers and non-RPers. we can't do anything to change that now, all we can do is gather the 10% that still RPs and RP with them, hoping that one day it will grow to 11%. |
As I (think I) said before, I like these open spaces - but there should be some monsters on the kingdom islands, bomy-size, maybe even with specialized droppings for alchemy or cooking - local specialities would be nice, too ;)
|
That sounds quite good satrek O_O
It'd draw more people onto the kingdom islands, as right now all they go there for really is to drop things off at their house and stuff. Also, it'd open some room for RPing, like, going out in hunting parties, or training up newer members in privacy :D |
I've heard from Stefan personally that Snakes and Fishes on Kingdom Islands will be released some time after the brutal - so hopefully after one or two weeks/months :\

Nobody wants to spend 3 game years just to get to one area of the map. GK land is barren aside from non-interactive trees, and the occasional low level monster. If there were tons of things going on along the way, I don't think it would be as bad. But all you're doing is pressing your arrow keys for a long time until you arrive at your destination. The reasons for minimaps and warp rings and all that crap, is so you're not spending you're entire REAL lifetime, just trying to complete one task in the game. I can see it now: - We've started our quest for the graal today! It's in the land of Galador. We should arrive there in 2 years or so. - 2 years pass - Here we are in Galador! But wait! We just got word that the graal was taken to Runamuck a year and a half ago! Now we must quest to Runamuck, which should take about 4 years... - 4 years pass - etc etc etc By the time you're 82 years old, you might finally get the graal, in which it will do nothing, and you will fall over at your computer screen and die. |

Fact: If you have a server where people can have immensily high stats, you will have pkers.
Fact: If you are a newbie who just started, just got their first platinum and then gets killed by a pker, you don't want to play anymore. Fact: If you get scammed when you are a newbie, you just stop playing that server. Fact: Battle systems which allow other players to come kill the monsters you've been fighting are bad. In addition, the current battle system (which is non-existant really) is kind of drab. Turn-based and stronger party-based systems would be more enjoyable, as they would allow team participation and friends to help out friends. |

Sorry to mention Ragnarok on here, but I figured that I'd just put in my 2 cents. I think there should be a system just like this, but the problem is, KS'ing will evolve. Itll become *omg lord* *fast oldbie runs infront of oldbie hitting it once* *kills lord* *takes all the parts, and continiously regains the ownership of the items so nub cant get any* *waits for another lord and repeats* >.> |
