Graal webpage, read...

My friend owns www.thenextlevel.net. The server is a T1 or T3 i forget.. He can probably design the Graal site and make it 1039348x better, but you'll need to pay him to host it.

Just think, he designed his own programming language (as another friend said).

I'm sure he can make you guys a design, he'll want money but it's worth a try. If you want to e-mail him, then a GRAAL STAFF e-mail me and I'll give you the e-mail. He'll want money trust me =[

[email protected]

Derrick 06-15-2001 02:32 AM

don't know.
A.C never wanted money I don't think.
So why would he want money?
if he wants money were probably not going to accept.
But email [email protected], [email protected], or [email protected]

How can he design a website when the one he owns is horrible?

Merlin2 06-15-2001 03:14 AM

well maybe he owns a business and made the webpage real fast?

he has a life like 99.9% of graalians, so I would think he can make a design 99.9% better or he would give you guys hosting... I have hosting on www.thenextlevel.net/vincent/

for free, CGi and all. and the site isnt the best hes made so.. :)

the sites he hosts (a few... i think theyre all friends) are on the bottom left.

Kaimetsu 06-15-2001 03:18 AM

But they already have hosting, and why wouldn't he make his best site for his own page?

Spunky2000ca 06-15-2001 03:24 AM

If i needed a site made, id look to my brother who knows a lot more to html than i do. Ad the other things
He makes REALLY good flash intros for sites too

Yep, I could make that site, the only thing it does is make the text yellow for a link, other then that it's just text.

Derrick 06-15-2001 03:47 AM

Tell him to TAKE his time on a new site.
Make it a good site.
Then send me the url in email
[email protected] or [email protected]

Krakken_2001 06-15-2001 03:51 AM

HELLO?!?!? he may be able to do design (UNKNOWN!) but can he do PROGRAMMING!?!?

I know many of the internet languages
MySQL
Perl (CGI)
HTML
SSI
PHP
a LITTLE bit of JavaScript
and LOTS of lovin =)

Krakken_2001 06-15-2001 03:52 AM

and... I could script a board like this pretty easy... I would just need LOTS and LOTS of time to do it (which I doubt I will EVER have) =)

Merlin2 06-15-2001 04:00 AM

Here. His friend designed thenextlevel.net and put it together in 10 mintues.

http://farside.tnlsolutions.com
www.hautemodels.com
www.thevcard.com
http://www.siouxfallsbiz.com/cgi-bin/siouxfallsbiz.exe
www.tnlsolutions.com
http://www.hautemodels.com/

Are a couple of his sites.

Merlin2 06-15-2001 04:13 AM

Someone named "j" made that site. Here is what he can do:

www.thenextlevel.net/mikesres.doc

vergil 06-15-2001 04:15 AM

DarkLink as in the Sidra darklink? I am just gonna HOPE thats not what youre talking about, hes giving you a load of *()@$&

vergil 06-15-2001 04:17 AM

anyway theres nothiing wrong with the site they have now.

Merlin2 06-15-2001 04:19 AM

Dude. He did a lot, I seen his work. He's not lying.

Merlin2 06-15-2001 04:21 AM

Message from I8, the roommate of Mike Wade -
thenextlevel.net is just there for name's sake, it's not meant to be much of an advertisement. your right, the actual page was thrown together in like 10 minutes. the only reason its really up is to provide webhosting for people like you and me (free). its not intended to make any money. the money comes from web design and custom programming. if they wanna see an example, send the to www.hautemodels.com, a site designed & hosted by The Next Level.

vergil 06-15-2001 04:23 AM

his resume states he has expierence with almost every professional design program and every programming langauge known to man
this guy plays graal?

vergil 06-15-2001 04:24 AM

as for hautemodels, why does the button at the bottom say WebSite solutions by ConsiderItDone ? shouldn't it say WebSite solutions by TheNextLevel?

Merlin2 06-15-2001 04:43 AM

Go to www.hautemodels.com and click models, women, right click view source, and you will see

Merlin2 06-15-2001 08:05 AM

no he does not play graal

Merlin2 06-15-2001 08:08 AM

ill have him post.

Iracious 06-15-2001 08:18 AM

I agree that Graal needs a new website.. But this guy? No, if someone is going to make a new website for graal it'd have to be someone who actually PLAYS graal, someone who knows the game..

Making the website has nothing to do with that it has to do with knowing computer languages etc...
Playing graal would just be a distraction,
as it is for most other important postions

SQL, Graal and so on.....

I didn’t have a GRAAL account so darklink let me use his.

SQL is cool but if I were to make a GRAAL or if you will SIDRA I would use Visual C++ to design multiple servers using a TCP/IP connection to communicate with its clients. These multiple servers would use an Oracle Database. Instead of reading/writing to Oracle though BDE, ADO, ODBC or IFS (internet file system) I would communicate directly with Oracles OCI layer. This would increase the speed and reliability of data being transferred, which would lower bandwidth and speed up game play. I used to design 3D video game engines. They are very time consuming and the characters take forever to design. When I tried to get a game/software into the retail market the high costs always stopped me. You’re looking at a minimum of $250,000.00 just to get to market. And then another $10,000 or so to grease the retailers palms. And that’s to advertise your own stuff on their shelves. The reason I would charge to design something like GRAAL is because of the amount of time involved. So keep in mind that GRAAL is done very well for a free online game. It took some great ideas and hard work to accomplish what you see, hear and play.

One more comment for Virgil. I have worked as a freelance programmer for over 10 years. In that amount of time you have to learn something new all the time or you get very board very fast! In fact I am currently working on my own scripting language that works on a tag system. This will be used to decrease development time and allow high level programming techniques to be implemented in Intranet/Internet projects.

i think you guys were owned because i dont even know half the stuff he said... lol

but anyways, i said it once and this is the second time

thenextlevel.net was made by a friend, and thrown together in 10 mintues. its a ugly site, but his other sites are a lot better

he still owned you

he dont play graal

FatherDante 06-16-2001 04:01 AM

I'm sorry, but this is simply foolish. Graal has no responsibility or necessity to rennovate its site, and to treat the purchase as the consumer's responsibility is reversing the essential's of capitalism.

Birdbird_0 06-16-2001 04:12 AM

::sings:: go Dante, go Dante, go Dante, Its your birthday! I couldent of said it better myself

NightLord 06-16-2001 04:28 AM

This is retarded. Graal has a fine website and a perfect host already. Why would we pay some no body to make a new site when we could get better vulunteers?

kyle0654 06-16-2001 06:40 AM

I know a few people who'd be more than willing to do it for free, and some of them are quite good at making webpages, and pretty experienced. The fact is, Graal doesn't need a new website, and if it did, they'd have the guy that did this one (I don't know exactly, but I know he works with them) make the new one. It's as simple as that.

Merlin2 06-16-2001 10:29 AM

No, if they wanted a new site he could do it. But it's mainly for the SQL or whatever, they said they needed to make it better. He loves doing that kind of stuff, but Graal is a bunch of *****s that can't do anything right and are REALLY stupid. Like I posted 2 or 3 times that he did NOT make thenextlevel.net, a friend did for him in like 10 mintues.

I would rather just talk to Stefan about it. Volunteers are good, but he can do a lot better then just 'volunteers,' and I wouldn't rip of Graal because Stefan is a good person. So lets just drop the subject.

kyle0654 06-16-2001 12:27 PM

Who says his skill is better just because he makes people pay for it? He's just capitalizing off of what skill he has...

I wouldn't count on it is all I'm saying...in fact, I wouldn't even waste Stefan's time if I were you. Not saying he couldn't do a good job...but that's why they have people to do that...and there's people on Graal that could do a great job too...even if they don't ask for compensation.

Just don't assume that since someone is doing something for free that they aren't going to do a great job at it. They could do better than someone who asks for money, and generally would, because they have to believe in what they're doing to want to do it, rather than just getting paid to chuck out a soulless work.

Oh well, if someone else wants to argue against your prejudging of people they can...I won't be around much to do it though for a week. It's great that you offered, but there's other, better, cheaper solutions.
