Would you like your private playerworld to be public? And want to be on the PWA team?

Public Playerworlds:
This weekend I will authorise up to 3 (meaning I may suggest none) to become public. I am not going to give any other details about what you need, but you should be looking at the top playerworlds and comparing yourself to those in quality and quantity of things to do.

If you would like to be public please forum pm me or AIM me. Angel needs to fix email, so thats out of order right now.

PWA Team:
I am now the Playerworld Admin (PWA Admin) so I shall get up some sort of hiring process up for NEXT weekend (not this one) more details later.

Sorry for the short notice, I only got news of it today

osrs 09-25-2003 07:55 PM

Congratulations Spark :)

syltburk 09-25-2003 07:55 PM

I came on, while hoping over them all looking for ones that may be good if I looked around enough, you were one of the only few. But like the others you weren't actually ready just yet.

O.o what do you mean I was one of the only few?

XJOKERX 09-25-2003 10:06 PM

Congrats spark, you deserve it.

I cant wait to tryout for PWA, I have been waiting patiently :D

superb 09-25-2003 10:08 PM

I don't think any of the private servers are ready to become public yet.

deman1171 09-25-2003 10:11 PM

DoD's overworld is growing daily, and we already have the fair ready. it's going to be a huge RP event with games and stuff to buy, and to get money to do that a guy will give everyone 100g at the front.
Also, check out Anystria, it looks nice.

Nitkizi 09-25-2003 10:16 PM

Isn't Cynical done? It's a decent classic-style server..

DoD is alright, has potential, but nothing worked properly when I was on there..

zell12 09-25-2003 10:36 PM

I used to be on the PWA Team for like 20 minutes, then Nemesis saw the post by unixmad about the council and he said he wasn't sure anymore because the PWA wouldn't be anymore. So oh well, how all goes well sparky :p

Thallen 09-25-2003 11:10 PM

Congratulations Spark, finally, some excitement, new servers coming out, maybe now I'll reappear on Graal more often.

Darlene159 09-25-2003 11:13 PM

Congrats Spark, you deserve it...I look forward to good things in the future ;)

XJOKERX 09-25-2003 11:15 PM

:d

Relating to zell:

I was on the team for 3 days with Crono ut then Psyker took over and left me in the cold =(

Congrats, and does that mean that there would be 14 public servers? Or are you going to start sending worlds into private to be worked on as well?

Nick1988 09-25-2003 11:51 PM

It's about time a PW Admin was named. Congratulations Spark, you deserve it. :)

I agree. Cynical was good, but I dont know if they are ready, was nobody on RC. Madwolf by 'I' I mean the playerworld Archiac.

Well dommsday is gone, making way for one to come forward. And yes we will start pushing some back.

Btw my email is back up now.

I was there on RC helping out with some things. They have almost nothing left on there compared to what they had when they opened up. It's strange. I guess they shrunk the overworld and ditched half of their npc's.
This was about 3 weeks ago though, so who knows maybe stuff been added.

Python523 09-26-2003 02:59 AM

I don't think 2 months is enough time to make enough content for a server

also:
suggestion, make it so the server has to pass an inspection by every GST in order to be made public
(GST include:
me (Jagen)
Angel
Kaimetsu
Loriel
Tseng
Projectshifter
(and nice job forgetting half of them on your resources thread :\)
)

KainDaMan 09-26-2003 03:11 AM

!!!!!!!!!CONGRADULATIONS MY GOOD FRIEND SPARKY!!!!!!!!!

With love,
Kain Morbid

*notices how all the newbs are all about becoming PWA instead of congradulating Spark x.x tisk tisk tisk*

--Chris-- 09-26-2003 03:43 AM

Go bro

Qwert616 09-26-2003 03:43 AM

Congratulations, Spark,

It should be interesting to see what servers go public.

Lance 09-26-2003 03:45 AM

Congratulations, Spark! I hope for you to keep up your good work.

I'm interested in how you are going to do the hiring, drop me a message next time we are both online? I may have some suggestions. :)

Umm... the hell? I don't think people want an entire team examining their scripts. Especially with the high chance that one out of the six+ people will disagree with the scripts they see. It's already hard enough to pass, why make it harder? We'll never see new playerworlds if that ends up happening. :(

DD is not gone , Stefan was just out of the loop on what was going on Spark as it seems you are too.:\ I know because I was directly involved in saving it and as it stands , Saga and Tifa will run it.

I agree that would be over the top to make a rule like that. No one would pass because hardly ever if at all will the Team all agree. 2 or 3 would be plenty on that.

By all 6 is a bit much, without knowing what consitutes "approval". However, it's not such a bad idea to have us examine them in order to prevent horribly inefficient scripts from wasting processor time and bandwidth.

Every single GST? Isn't that overkill?

At least 2/3 then, some people see things that others don't catch, so it would be better to have at least more than one, half would be fine I guess

HoudiniMan 09-26-2003 09:15 AM

Lots of people can find and identify inefficient scripts, but I've found in my travels over the years that the reason they go unattended to most of the time is because the scripter doesn't know, or doesn't have the will to rescript large projects like systems and what not.

Would the GST be willing to help said servers rescript faulty NPCs? I know you guys aren't about doing things for servers (unless they ask in that old thread) but i think it would boost overall quality.

We would obviously provide assistance (explaining concepts, giving suggestions etc), but we're not gonna do all the scripting for them.

It isnt really. Which is why only one playerworld seems good enough right now. Its not perfect but Stefan wants some change.

And when a few more people are on the team I will being back reviews of playerworlds (players used to like them) for each PW who wishes to go public. Also about the GST, I agree and will start to involve the GST if they do wish to be involved with the saying of which playerworlds go forward or not.

And finally you may be denied staying on the public list, or denied a free months hosting if you do not meet certain rules (to be drafed up later, such as security)

which would that be?

One that has been on and off the classic list for ages. But its got enough content as far as I can see, and they did show Unixmad a while back, and he liked it. There was alot to do. I am on that PW now idling on RC until I get home. Then I will look over it later. You'll see soon.

It may not work as we have only had 24hours to pick one. But atleast this time I can have time for next month. And if it doesn't work, it only stays for 30days. So its not too bad if it doesn't get a good playercount.

*cough* Angel forgot to tell unixmad it was staying up. *cough* Though I still remember her logging on Doomsday, it went something like this: "Someone forgot to tell unixmad Doomsday is staying." "funny lol" "bye". Seems to be someone was pointing fingers, and I'm deeply hurt by that, seeing as to us he's better at hiding than Osama Bin Laden. Plus today you said you would page him, so why couldn't you have contacted him in that period of time? Next time we should get a pinch of fairy dust or tap our heels together three times, will probably do more than Angel's pager.

Anyways, enough of the sarcasm and on a nicer note, congratualtions Spark. :asleep:
