GMAPs
I am desperately trying to comprehend this whole GMAP idea. No one tells me the same thing. I got a GMAP made. Now how do I integrate this into a server? Heres two ways I got:
loadmap mapname.gmap; or setmap with the textfile as the gmap. Now also, in folder config do I set the GMAP as a level? level levels/*.gmap or gmap levels/*.gmap And finally in serveroptions, gmap=gmapname Do I include the .gmap extension? Any help would be appreciated. I really want to get this all organized for me in my head. |
don't include the extension in serveroptions, yes add it as a level in folder config, just treat it like a level.. a really really big level.

Re: GMAPs
loadmap mapname; <- Generally use that, and as Stefan loads all gmaps on the server on login, I suppose it is good practice to do so
gmaps=gmapname1,gmapname2 <- gmaps= gets a comma seperated list of gmap names without .gmap extension levels *.gmap <- That goes into the folder options. I think you still need to mark the levels in the folder options too, though Do not use setmap. IM me if you fail to get it to work. |
Hey ok thats great. Your got me going now Loriel. Thx again! :)

You need both a 'file' and a 'level' entry in folder config for gmaps.
level *.gmap file *.gmap |
I always assume anything in folder config automatically has to be declared as a file first.

This thread inspired me.

I made a flat gmap program awhile ago in php:
http://gscript.us/gmap.php Dunno how helpful it is anymore now that the level gen can do it. |
