Current Quests System
The current quest system reminds me of the trading thingy on Zelda. You give a guy this, you get a item, you give another guy the item... There should be NPCs that give out quests like on classic. Except the quests should be given out according to your class. For example, if you are a Warrior and you talk to the Mayor, she wants you to go kill a few goblins. If you are a Thief, she gives you a quest where you are told to go do some secret ninja covert ops mission.
Another thing would be a promotion system, for example all Warriors belong to a guild or something and the more quests that you do from your guild you get bonuses like items and stuff. The Class guild houses would be located all around GK. Kingdoms needs more storyline to. Maybe have it constantly changing, for example, 1 month everything is fine, 2 weeks later northern part of GK is filled with giant killer bees because some strange mage created them and the went out of control, and there will be quests supplementing this new event. |

I think the the Class guild is a good idea, except I don't know how it would work if you are in a kingdom. Maybe there shouldn't just be kingdoms, maybe other factions like Fighters Guild and Blade Masters. And maybe there should be companies, like Vecelli Estate Repairing, which would repair peoples buildings for a fee. Of course, to prevent companies running out of control, you couldn't just create a company and let people sign petition like in classic.

The 'events' idea sounds good. Each week or so the conditions of the kingdom islands and the main island could be changed, so you have some monster invasion on one of the island, or you have a flood, massive numbers of worms and bees and snakes, different weather (when we add weather), lower prizes in shops, items can be found by digging (like easter eggs).
Then someone should also connect those things to introduce some kind of story or impression of history (because the players have fought back the monster hordes the shop keepers have lowered their prizes and celebrate the victory, some players get a special golden naginata for their brave behaviour, some other island could have bad rain, you see many worms, and water elementals coming out of the ground and hitting you) |

These story events should work with roleplaying (as should all events). In fact, all events should be tied to RPing. Sometimes, there should be a way one sole player can come out on top (like the way you said players get golden naginatas) and get an item with a "RP story" behind it (you press F12 to read), with any players being able to use it. The story could say something like "This is the flaming black flame sword of inferno given to Jack Rackham, the pirate for defeating the army of worms which invaded Bomboria. He was acknowledged for his bravery with this gift from the merchants around the world who were thankfull for Jack Rackham's restoration of the world's main trading town" (and maybe even a more detailed story of this story event). So the player becomes a kind of hero. These should be very rare though. As for current type of events like tournaments...they should be integrated more into roleplaying. The event hosts should at least act like wealthy noblemen hosting fighting tournaments (if that's the event) or other types of events. Maybe the items won can sometimes have RPG stories behind them (again, the ones viewed by pressing F12). But other than, more things should be given out in events (money, diamonds, etc.). Maybe none of the items should have any special meaning other than making a player look important (meaning the weapons do as much damage as a diamond blade, and no items that can't be worked for in other ways like purchasing in stores). So players would be able to gain status of popularity by being kings, heroes, or tournament champions. |

GK does indeed need a reset, but before that can take place, GK would need better money- making jobs and the prices lowered in the stores.. |

Stefan, you said it is "evolving world powered by players" or something like that, but in Kingdoms, nothing really changes, the major things that have happen are horses, new weapons, and pets. The events could make Kingdoms more fun because every month there are new quests and the world has changed, and you get to go discover it! The current storyline is that bomies took over Graal and the people went to go colonize the five islands. Now they come back, and fight the bomies and start to colonize the mainland. A good event would be that the bomies try to fight back and take their land back.

On a side note, to monsters still get exp for killing players? |

Maybe these events could be in some way personalized and locallized, say you have a worm invasion on a kingdom island, then you go there and find a certain area where the ground sparkles, not while you walk there, you get a certain chance of getting dragged into the ground where you find yourself in a small cave with a number of worms in some way fitting your exp, and you can fight them...
In general, and going with these idead, there should be some way of measuring power between the kingdoms, with forts to conquer and such, which would influence beast invasions - say a small kingdom gets less worms, a bigger one gets more. Weather should change every day or so, not as a weekly event - I'm still looking forward to it ;) Floods would be nice, too, if you can find some way to generate them with neither having to edit every single level nor affecting or damaging player houses... |
