Excaliburs guide to getting lots of grace.

Some of you have been wondering how did I get so much grace (I have over 120 now). Well, it is rather simple. You need good power and wisdom, so I suggest you get some power and wisdom potions from that quest to get 20 stats.

After that, you get some improve wisdom bonus scrolls and some more improve wisdom potions, then a prepare weapon scroll and guess what? You can improve a weapon to give you plenty of grace that will amaze you.

I told myself I wouldn't tell anyone this, but I just can't hold it back. Have fun with this new bit of information.

Oh, and DX reminded me and I should add this :o

In order to properly prepare the weapon you need to get 2 wis potions for every one improvment you want to make... so here is a table to show you:

Potions - Scrolls
2 - 1
4 - 2
6 - 3
etc...

To do +1 wis or +1 pow you need the improve wis/pow bonus scroll, then you need 2 stat potions of that stat, then you need 4 for +2, then it goes up for every time you want to put another stat + on it x.x

I figured people knew that happened... oh well yeah. :)

You use it on a prepared weapon yes, it takes up a slot.
The stat potions are obtained through quests which are listed in the pub.

This is incorrect. You actually need 2 potions per improvement. Thus, if a sword is Int +2 and Str +2, then 8 potions would be needed to raise any stat by one point. But if the sword was Int +2, Str +2, and Wis -2, then only 4 potions. A minimum of 2 potions is needed.

if you want to make a sword wis +2 you need 4 wis potions and 2 scrolls of improve wisdom

how can you take advantage of Improve Grace or Improve Wisdom Scrolls?

You need a wand for casting, and I don't think you can prep those, can you?

when you unready your graceful sword, you loose the bonus (not the grace till you cast it), but it seems odd to have an item buff a stat that you then have to unready to use the effect, or am I off on this one?

You used to be able to cast without a wand, I guess you could use it for praying to get god relics and stuff. :o

I thought the casting without a wand was only possible for like a week or so 2-3 months ago. That's the only time I remember it. If there was another time, it must have been a very long time ago (a year...). And relics are reason enough to raise grace.

TripleE 08-31-2003 06:05 AM

would this work for gaining relics from alters when you need like a base of 50 grace? Or can you not have a weapon wielded for it to work?

Yes, you do this for getting relics! That's the whole point. The weapon raises your base grace as any wisdom + items.

zell12 09-02-2003 03:41 PM

Yes, this is the whole reason I posted this. People were complaining that grace levels for relics were too high, I played dumb and went along with them and tried to get more scrolls and potions. But since I don't play as much anymore I told everyone the "secret".

Satrek2000 09-04-2003 11:21 PM

Just something I feel like pointing out to some newer players and to avout any king of scamming: a prepared weapon belongs to the one who prepares it, and nobody else can use it. If someone tells you to gove them your weapon, scroll and diamonds to prepare a weapon "for you", as they will certainly scam you. There's no risk of failing when you do it yourself, and it's certain that you'll never see your stuff again when someone else does it.

dustariandigger 09-05-2003 06:17 PM

you dont need a wand to use enchant weapon and thats the type of scroll it is so u dont need a wand to use the improve grace or wis bonus! u only need a prepped weapon and those potions!:) :D ;) :p
