More question!

How do I make it so the player cant chat unless the script tells them too? Also how do I make it so the player cant move unless something happens ? Thanks.

You would know the answers to both of these if you would just read the tutorials that are avaiable to you. You have been referred to it several times. I suggest, lastly that you be aware of this rule of the NPC forum.

1) Don't post here just asking for scripts, or asking for people to fix scripts that are beyond your skill level. The posters here aren't just some handy resource for scripting shortcuts. If you can't script something then don't try to produce it. If you're trying to make it to aid your learning then set your sights lower. If you want it for a server then go get a NAT. Likewise, don't post whole scripts for people. Post wordy solutions, certainly, but not things that people can just copy & paste into their levels without any effort.

Freezing player commands.

freezeplayer2;
unfreezeplayer;

Clientside:
freezeplayer seconds;
disabledefmovement;
enabledefmovement;

Timeouts are handy in this case.

Thank you neorene, I appreciate you answering. And for tribulation staff, Im asking for a command not a whole script. So dont act like im asking for a whole script.

How about freezing the text they said for some time ?

setplayerprop #c, ;

I don't mean to flame. I just feel that you should learn to read the manual, so to speak, instead of asking every time. As Jagen would say, you won't learn anything unless you learn on your own. There are many aspiring scripters out there. The only reason this board isn't cluttered with questions about basic commands is that there exist references out there which explain them thoroughly already.

wait wait! I have an idea... go into editor... and look at the commands in a NPC... that's how I learned and look at me! I'm... oh wait... nvm... ;)

The newbie scripters bible is written in a style that I learn much from. In basic knowledge it uses these commands that ive never even heard of not even explaining why I would need some of this stuff. I learn by asking questions and reading through scripts and trying to figure out what they do.

Angel, setplayerprop #c, ; would make it clear the chat above the players head, I need to know how like if they use an npc and it makes them say "I own you" how could I make it so the text stays there until a certain event happens?

commands.rtf and newfeatures.txt(s)
search the scripting forums for one of the more updated commands.rtf files if you don't already have one (from the forums of course)

read those first, then ask about commands and such, most of your answers can easily be found in these documents

[EDIT] omfg, setplayerprop #c,insert your text or #s(string) here;

use a slow timeout to keep the chat the same. if you think they'll talk to make it go away, increase the timeout rate.
