Online level editor

Would it be possible to make an online level editor? It would make testing and stuff on UC servers so much easier...

I'm not sure if this should go in the levels or scripting forum, so I put it here.

How would it make it easier? It would be the exact same, but online. o.o

*Walks around in a level*
*Sports a tile error*
ACK! A TILE ERROR!
*Hits F4*
*Fixes tile error*
*Hits save*
*Hits play*
*Continues playing the server*

*Didn't look at it that way*
Yes, that would be very helpful.

O_o

That kinda reminds me of the old days you could save a level off the server with alt +5 and then put your npcs in levels folder then play the level on the server and the npc went into your inventory.
:D! But they changed it.
:(

That would be where the save button would save the level - to ftp.

Uhh
You would also have to make the script where NOT ALL PLAYERS can do that.
Only make it where Admins/Managers can edit it or somthing like that.

It would be that people with level ftp. Also, if they have NC too, they can fix the scripts.

Wow thats a nice idea. It would be so much easier. It probably wont fly though. It could be a pretty easy thing to hack.

And how is that?

SaijinGohan 08-13-2003 08:55 PM

Well now all you have to do to edit a level is get the gserver to think you have the rights to do so.
If you did it from RC, you first need to get access to the server and then get the rights to do so.

Online level editing is 1 step secure whereas from rc it is 2 steps.
