NPC Servers
 

What's with the NPC Servers? o_O

On Delteria earlier today everything just started lagging horribly, NPC's wouldn't load, NC was extremely slow, nothing worked. I screwed with it a bit, d/ced it and called the /npcstart command and like an hour and a half it came back, and everything started working again...that was the second time I had to d/c and call the command.

Everything was running fine there for awhile, now he just started back up all of a sudden. -_- It's rather annoying.

Its probably all the new servers draining up cpu usage.

I think they are getting more processors though cause of the "more than expected" flood of PW rentings and thats whats taking them so long to set up new ones cause they have to put in all the software/hardware and configure it

Bleh, they should have got that ready before putting them up. :\

Usually, behavior such as this is caused by poorly designed or inefficient scripts made by the local scripters.

Though all of the CPU times on the scripts were very low. That and there's only like three people who script on Delt...myself, a manager, whom I help, and a NAT who's lucky to still have his job. I know the problem isn't from anything I've made, nor the manager since I check out everything he makes...and the other guy, as I said, is lucky to still have his job...he doesn't exactly make stuff often.

We're not talking about Riot are we??
Anyways, it could have just been a stupid bug, or the NPCs perhaps had something wrong. It only takes one bad script to screw up a server =(

and it isn't a script, for the simple fact nothing was put up around around the time it all began. And it wouldn't have been a script put up before then, because this would have happened before...And we have a LS team which looks at everything before it's uploaded level-wise. Plus I restarted the NPC Server twice, and nothing happened untill the second time, which took an hour and a half for it to restart.

I think its just your server because I havnt had any problems with lag at all.

Im REALLY starting to hate delteria's npc-server......its lagging like omi....cant read signs,guild messages take long,no scripts work ect.....

Val is just due to poor scripting. It's always lagged to some extent. I'm guessing the problem is the same with Delteria.
