Playerworlds info

Sorry about the delay with the new playerworlds, we needed to setup more playerworlds before approving more projects (on graal.net). On Saturday night / Sunday morning everything should work fine again.

About 3d terrain: Playerworlds are allowed to use the 3d terrain, together with the picso.png and the flower gfx and trees. It's not allowed to use other gfx from Graal Kingdoms (houses, characters, monsters, items), we might make it possible in the future to get those in a special pack together with scripts and sounds.

About the rights system: For weapon subfolders you need to add another line of rights, you need rights for each weapon subfolder you want to use, one 'rw WEAPONS/*' line is not enough.
It's possible now to deny rights, just add a minus in front:
NPC Code:

rw levels/*.graal
-rw levels/secretlevel.graal

would give access to all graal files in the levels folder, except to 'secretlevel.graal'.
In scripts you can check for rights with the hasright command, e.g. if (hasright(rw,levels/secretlevel)) ...

Thank you!

The exclusion right will be rather useful. :)

Im rather new to this so bare with me.

so with the -rw, you can edit any level or w/e accept that 1 that you assign?

From what he said, it's not an "Everything but" it's just a "no rights to".

*still lost* Ok, i sorta understand

When you access a file it seaches for rules that match, and 'adds' them, so rw minus rw = no rights,
it doesn't matter in which order the rules are (you can have first a -rw line then a rw line, it will still deny)

That's brilliant!
All you need now is to make it possible to give rights to certain lines in the Server Options. :)

Back in the old days there used to be this thing called trust... Soon there will be rights to restrict you from typing the letter "j" in RC Chat...

He could interview and evaluate each new user, judging whether they are fit to play or not. The general playercount may suffer from this method, however.

:p I can't believe you actually wasted your time to type that.
I was reading the newspaper the other and it said that some Swedish scientist invented something; it's called lying. People could easily "meet the standards" with just a few well placed lies. Anyways, GO needs customers to keep the game running, why would you want to run down the playercount; to make the "qualified" players have to pay the difference to keep GO up?
