If your local guilds are gone..

If your local guilds have been removed from your /guilds_pwname folder, which they should have been, they are safe and are now in:

/level/guilds/

It was something with the servers apparently anyhow you they will reamin down until the server restart, which should happen tomorrow

Thankyou.

It was something with the servers apparently anyhow you must keep them in this folder now, so update folderconfig:

guild guilds/*.txt

And they will reamin down until the server restart, which should happen tomorrow

Thankyou.

There is no such folder config option as guild.

I just realised. I swear there used to be. Either way folders moved.

Angel 07-31-2003 02:02 AM

file guilds/*.txt

Is what you would want ^^.

I somehow doubt that would enable guild files which are stored in the guilds/ folder if the server is still attempting to read from guilds_pwname/.

tlf288 07-31-2003 02:43 AM

Why were the folders changed?

I doubt it is a good thing to enable clients to download the guild files O.o

FrostyElf 07-31-2003 03:06 AM

we tried file guilds/*.txt on doomsday and it didnt seem to work so we had to put it in file levels/guilds/*.txt since we had it in another folder

That will look in levels/levels/guilds/ for .txt files then.

No.

What Loriel said was absolutely correct. Ignore what Spark and Angel said about folder options - there is no folder option for guild files.

Darlene159 07-31-2003 04:02 AM

I have never had anything in the folder options for guilds

Angel 07-31-2003 05:38 AM

*Looks on 5 servers*
They all have "file guilds/*.txt"
All the new players have it. It's in the defalut server options. And everything the clients what has to be under levels/ thats why you dont put /levels/ in folder config cause the g server auto looks under /levels/ no matter what ^^. Also I dont know what Spark I was just correcting him saying guild was a folder config option :P

Try checking a PW with an empty staff=, so you know that it isn't one that Spark has already been to and told them to add file guilds/*.txt to. It is not part of the default folder options (why did you call it server options?).

Dont fully ignore me:

They guilds will be down until the server restart which will happen tomorrow

And I havent been to anyone to tell them to add anything, they just have as they havent read down.

No people do. I made a mistake by thinking guilds were written into folder options, and it sortof triggered off a debate.

superb 07-31-2003 03:36 PM

Isn't it already "tomorrow" now? :p

Contrary to popular belief, Stefan and Unixmad don't keep stopwatches and have a magic "Do It!" button to click at the moment "tomorrow" comes into effect :-P

An hour to a week, for important ones (pw problems)...

Longer, for less important ones (account/item problems on 2k2)...

When I posted that it was well into tomorrow at Paris. :p

draygin 08-01-2003 04:33 PM

Here's my take on the matter. If it's not broken don't fix it.
So as long as my current guild files set ups work I will continue to use it as such.

Projectshifter 08-01-2003 04:50 PM

I think you're all crazy =p
When I got my pw I had:
guilds/guild*.txt
Which means if you were doing folder rights for it, you would do:
rw levels/guilds/guild*.txt
Simple as that.

-'guilds/guild*.txt' is not a folder option in and of itself - it requires an identifier in front of it.

-If a folder option was that, then the right would be that. What is your point? You seem to be attempting to prove the converse of this conditional statement, which is not how logic works - you cannot prove something is true simply because its converse is true (unless it is a biconditional statement - if and only if - which is not the case here).

*Hands cookie to tifa* :)

Projectshifter 08-03-2003 07:25 AM

LOL, my mistake, it is actually:
guild guilds/guild*.txt
So that's what I always have used and what was on the new PW's default.
