Graal 2000 is coming back

After Tyhm shuts down the current screwed up Graal 2000, I am putting up old one back up (already got permission) and we will continue where we left off before the reset. The only thing is only VIP and gold members will be able to play unless we somehow get on the public list. :) Once we're up, we will have a part of the old Graal city up for folks to hang around and pk, etc. The reason we aren't going to have the whole thing public at first is because once the new Graal comes out, clientsided scripts will no longer work so we are completely converting it to use serversided scripts. It will be a long and daunting task but we will accomplish it. So feel free to come on and check us out once we're up. Thanks.

Well, clientside scripts will still work, but some commands are disabled for security purposes. Those commands have to be shifted to serverside.

Ah okay. We were told by Tyhm that they wouldn't work at all.

I never saw the point in it. Why not just make a cool new playerworld from scratch? But using the old style of levels and tileset, meaning no detailed levels, so you could make them all in about a week.

He was probably just simplifying the explanation. The scripts you have on G2000 at the moment will not work, because they are entirely clientside and rely on features that are now restricted to the serverside. That said, though, it's probably true that at least half of all code on modern playerworlds is processed clientside.

So eventually there will be two alternate servers. Graal2000 and Old Graal (that I'm creating).

Just a suggestion: you shouldn't hire the old staff.

The point is that we had a community base in Graal 2000 and when the server was reset they lost their home. We're going to attempt to give it back to them.

Yeah that's cool. Yours can remain old and boring (just playin' :p) and ours will evolve and grow hehe. We'll see which one gets players.

Again, I never said I won't add anything new.
But I wouldn't add levels that were made in G2K1 style o_O

Nor will we. :) First thing to go is virtually all of Zeltino's levels.
