Ahoy Matey!
idea!
why not have it so ropes are built in on ships, giving you the ability to swing over to another persons ship with a combination of left arrow key and right arrow key to gain momentum, then you press d to release and send you flying through the air. say if you drop ontop of ship or land, that is fine. but if you fall in the water (Dark Water) then it warps you back to the last dock you touched (same as when ship is destroyed). this might be fun, no? |
This would sure add to the seabattle experience, but as an addition I think it would have to be made so that you hit the enemy ship when you hit it's gfx, that is, unlike ships who can halfways cross each other. Apart from that, I think it's a good idea.

Sweet god yes, Maybe ships could become more like playerhouses, not just one use ships. I'd like to see different class ships too but that's a different story. Adding extra cannons, Planks to walk, a playerhouse downstairs. store cannon balls in a barrel on the deck and the cannons fire from what's in the barrel.. you've just got to stock it instead of carrying them around. These ships would be as hard to build as playerhouses, last longer, and maybe have key locks on the mast. (no parking at public docks over night though) Rp would have to greatly improve though. Sea battles now are pretty much larger scale pk fests right now.

They'd require a few logs, and cloth for the sail, maybe iron for the cannons... and the one who started constructing them gets 'ownership rights,' meaning that only he can raise or lower the ladder, letting people in, maybe even have an extra lock for the cargo room. Normal cannons can store cannonballs, I just never tried whether the ones on ships can, too...

Yes, Ships should be expanded much more, and houses too. Almost everything should ^^

That would be good/bad at the same time. i mean good idea geno but you would hardly make it to the ship. I mean you get kicked off ships almost all the time when you're just walking on the deck :(
