Kingdoms...

I've known Graal Kingdoms for almost a year by now, and I still cant figure out why the main idea of the server isnt applied.

Kingdoms is fun, as for the gameplay and the events that staff host, but so far, I -never- seen any kingdoms' diplomacy switching to something else than Neutral. Alot of side events are hosted, but yet, nothing ever happened with the kingdoms themselves, like wars, strategic alliance, kingdoms role-plays and such. These kingdoms are the heart of Graal Kingdoms and so far they seem just left behind. Whats the point of joining a kingdom other than just belong to it? We dont even have a cause to fight for or anything, they are like... dead

I say that kingdoms staff should spend more time on the server's main idea :/ Plan wars and RPs, and have them controlled, and constantly updated

Re: Kingdoms...

The problem is theres nothing for kingdoms to work with aswell as Roleplaying isn't mandatory it should be atleast, using (( )) for OOC text and playing incharacter while you are around anybody)

But since all these SSJx418410VETGAGOKUAN U R RULZ PLZ BI4ME people seem to run around.

I know what you're saying, and it'd be great if it were like this, but it's hard to get a large community of different-minded people to do this one thing right. It could happen very though soon, a kingdom war, many Dustarians left Dustari for Zormite Republic, and I do recall Tseng telling him unloyalities, "Good luck, you're going to need it." Maybe something will spark from here on? :D

I think it also depends on the leaders of each kingdom to make this happen. If the Leader of each kingdom would be more active and make their guys stay on tag then we could be more active in that way, but as long as they are not, it will stay this way. It would make Kingdoms more exciting to play on.

I always loved the Astri plot...brought forth a lot of RP ideas.

I want there to be a huge war...I remember preparing for war on Samurai. I made like 5 ships, bows, and arrows for everyone. Then we formed squads and stuff.

The Eastern Alliance had battles with Dustari and Zormite a good amount of the time. Back in the day Pirates were feared and the backbone of the alliance.

It's been the mind frame of most Leaders to "Not attack unless provoked. Other than CP who recently... "provoked" Zormite into defending itself there has been no "real reason" to gear up for battle.

Maybe if there were a seperate island "ruled by no one" that had a wealth of resources on it... maybe, mines that drop diamonds, more frequently. Or has other items on it that you can't get on main or kingdom islands.
Then in order to access those items, a kingdom must gain control of the island... and this would happen by "fighting for it". There could be some "rules to the war" to gain territorial rights to the island. I don't know how it would work exactly... but it seems like it would be something worth fighting for.

As for now, kingdom wars have no real benefit to "winning the war" and is difficult to do when leaders aren't always on to make "war decissions.

Well it's just a thought....

I read about forts being added soom, maybe that would help - given there was some system to gain points for taking another kingdom's fort, or holding one's own. That would add some reason for war, and make allies worth something measurable. Also, there are kingdoms who aren't neutral - Dustari and Forest, last time I checked, are allies, and more are to come.

:O

I like ariella's idea, then kingdoms could capture islands and build forts in them to defend it, and houses in them, there would be a point for kingdoms to be active then

To promote RPing, RP all of the time ..

.. people talk to me about real-life things, and I RP ..

.. so right now my character knows of some far off lands called "Canada" and "Japan" .. and he's come to learn that saying "Lol" is a different way of showing amusement.

.. and don't forget the brackets when speaking OOC. Newbies will ask you what you're doing, then you can explain, and perhaps it will intrigue them, eh?

Yea, I agree with Dell. Ever since I started playing GK, about 2 weeks ago :D, I havent seen a single Kingdom war yet. I heard its big though. The idea of kingdoms being able to take over islands sounds kool.

draco5432 07-29-2003 11:34 PM

There hasnt been a kingdom war in weeks, the last "war" was when Samurai captured dustari's queen and there was no possible RP way to resuce her, so the king ordered a full assult on Samurai...if i remember right we slaughtered the Samurai, but they murdered the queen before it was all over...

Now dustari is queenless, and samurai are still dumber then ever.

::edit:: A "war" with samurai is just a pk fest because all the samurai do is respawn and come back for more...i remember killing the same 5 members on samurai 30 times before it was all over

Satrek2000 07-30-2003 08:28 AM

Maybe there should be some "warmode" - if a kingdom setsit's status towards another kingdom to enemy, and a member is killed by a member of that (or an allied) kingdom, they can't hurt members from these kingdoms anymore, similar to not being able to hurt a fellow member. This way, someone who was killed is out of the war, even though this would not prevent them from run arround and annoy. Still it would add a little, methinks.

lol i remember the eastern alliance war and the astri war both of those were fun ^-^...of course that was when every one was sensable and didnt have there head in the clouds. nwo that people are high level and dont RP its hard to have them. also higher levels think themselfs higher then there commanders so they will tear up the whole fun. as well as kingdoms have no benifet from winning wars
