Levelgens True Potential?

Umm... This levelgen thing... I have fooled around with it, and it always messes up whenever I try and make it look good...
It seems that it is only good for making simple predefined, ****ish looking things.
The cliffs all turn out straight and stuff, no matter how detailed I make them in the map.

Has anyone had any luck making something half-decent with it?
And if so, can you show me? =D

Well most people fully edit it all, it doesnt read the map 100% so it wont work great, most just do it so they have basic shape and totally redo. The idea is that it makes some levels and you dont have to name, make basic things in them, and like them all up.

And also so the levels are connected, and uhmmm so you dont have any connection problems from one level to another... and so you don't have to link them yourself, using a levelgeneration is a very useful and speedy tool to aid yourself, it wasn't ment to do all the work for you, don't be lazy.

I am not lazy, and I understand that, but sometimes its nice to draw something in paint and make it make my levels, rather than making them all by hand.

I was just wondering if it was possible to actually make anything good out of it...

Yes you can make good outlines with it. :)

Although the best thing about it is definatly the premade links. I'll be using it on my overworld. Although it will be just one giant grass levels which I'll then be going in by hand with custom tilesets to fix.
