Graal 2.2 and Windows XP

Well, I have Windows XP, and Graal 2.2 is running nicely, but my friend has a problem with it...

He tried installing it, and whenever he closes the options window, tries to go into training, or when he (I'm assuming this) tries to open the serverlist, Windows XP reboots. Either one of us doesn't know what causes it.

Does anyone know how to fix it?

My friend who has Windows XP cannot enter the training mode, his Graal freezes up.

Sounds like you're getting a Blue Screen.

(Windows XP by default reboots automatically on a BSOD).

Can you give us more details about his graphics card? Perhaps the drivers installed? It sounds like something with DirectX is doing this?

I have windows xp as well, the only problem is that it takes like..3 minutes to load. Other than that, runs just as nicely as on any other OS. :D

I have problems with spontaneous rebooting on Win2k, too.
For me, it is as if I pressed the reset button. Does your comp do an ordinary reboot (like closing everything and shutting down)?

Luigi1 07-13-2003 02:53 AM

Apparently, my friend's computer will do that like a normal reboot, like the problem you have.

I've suggested that he runs it in compatability mode for Windows 98, let me see if that works...

XP

none of this happens to me, everything works normally eventhough once i dont remember why windows xp did reboot by itself but everything else is just handy dandy :p

Xeross 07-13-2003 11:25 PM

I have same problem that loriel, my win xp reboot like if i used reset button, wierd, if i someone finds out how to solve this :)

DarkDragoon_Lloyd 07-14-2003 10:06 AM

My XP just seems to reboot randomly...
Or... more like when I am 95% complete and about to save something that took me a long time to complete... Its like my computer is just doing that to piss me off...
Then I need to go through ScanDisk and all that, and my text file/graphic/level/script/forum PM/post on forums is lost... =/
My computer does that every 10 minutes or so...

I dunno if it is just Graal doing it... =/
