!Help! Before I explode!!!

I upload levels onto a certain server. These are my Chaos Faction levels, and they are allowing me and my staff to test things on their server.

Ok, so half of my levels link, half dont. Ok, ermmmm.
So I check offline, they are all linked and work fine. So I decide to delete all of the levels out of FTP, and reload them all. Same problem. Now I am pissed.

Next step: Try uploading one level that it wont link to: Uploaded file levels/ChaosFactiond02.nw (done)
Now on player account: warpto 30 30 ChaosFactiond02.nw

(Level Doesn't Exist)

Someone, anyone, please help. :grrr:

Easy, you have incorrectly set up folder configuration, I take it you have a folder and not just main /levels folder

Contact me later, or post it.

I don't recommend having upper-case letters in levels. I don't think it works well, though I may be wrong.

No, Pro you are correct. If you have uppercase levels I believe they start to cause problems. Always try to keep it lowercase. :]

Yea, I dont have the main folder for levels....
If this doesn't work I will try Vamp's Idea.

Spark910 07-10-2003 06:13 PM

Yes, and I didnt see that at first, lower case is generally a good idea.

Mykel 07-10-2003 09:11 PM

All fix-did now. Was lower-case thinger.

draygin 07-10-2003 10:02 PM

also just so you know never put spaces in level names or graphics that will be on the server either.

No the thing that starts to cause problems is like this.. level name.nw,or level,name_0 1.nw

Congratulation Triple E, that was your 666 post. :D

Azrael528 07-12-2003 05:06 AM

you can still use an underscore right? like level_name.nw?

Yes.

ApeHex 07-14-2003 11:24 AM

for spaces use %20 since its the internet %20 is read as a space
so you can use a level named omg this is a test.nw and change the link to omg%20this%20is%20a%20test.nw just so you people know
i wouldnt recommend using it though

I've came across a couple of those kind of levels. They usually don't work. That's why you should require staff to never use anything but letters, numbers, -, or _. It's annoying having to fix levels that don't work just because of a stupid error like that.
