Regarding Frolic...
 

Some of you may not like me, others may not care, but yet -- i'm posting anyway. I've had enough of Frolic. I'm tired of working on it continuously for endless ours and not getting any results. For the past week, i've gained alot of intrest in another game and I just don't feel like putting up with the pressures of being a manager anymore. This includes the extensive IM's and the PM's and the E-Mail's and the annoyance that I recive constantly from alot of you every second of the day. I don't know... I'll probibly go look for a job on N-Pulse since it totally rocks there, then change my screen name AND e-mail and then see where it leads me.

I've put more into Frolic then most managers put into their server's during their entire reign. You just don't know about it. For the rest of you that always say "Hah, it's such a waste of space", "It's poorly run", "I can do better", and "It blows" -- I just wanna let you know that one persons garbage, is another persons treasure (I stole this quote from somewhere, derno where though... hehe).

I loved it. It was fun, and now it's done.
Once I get ahold of Stefan, i'll have it shut down. :-/

Wow, and to think just the other day I was working on Dino Valley with Cybnext right before Frolic came up. Yes Cybnext and his brother Caffiene, I remember them. Sad to see his playerworld leave.. :(

I feel for you. I had the same thing with Providence. Although it was doing well when I quit graal for a 6 month period. But I and the old staff had it taken down and let it rest in piece it had its day in the sun. Better to let a memory last than to drag it out with no results. It's to much of a headache when you can take all your work and ideas into a new server and have people appreciate it.

Good decision.

I felt sorry for you all how you release the new Frolic, and not a good enough number of people went to look at it =[

Knuckles if I were you I would give it one last shot with a name change. Most people will check it out if it has a new name.

I just don't want to see cybnext's server gone, and I know curious people will check out a server with a new name. First impressions are everything on graal.

Sounds like a good idea to me. Bring it back with a new name, remade levels and some events.

Most Managers put their everything into their servers. (not all i know,but still)
And should the time come, i too will shut down Doomsday.
Or be the last one here when they close it down because i wont pay for it.
Less of course i am forced to quit because of the constant back stabbing by my staff.
But thats another story.

Knux, talk to me on AIM, I think we could have a decent situation to save Frolic.

Uhm, that seems to be everyone's solution to the problem but it's not goin' to work out like that. You'd think it would, but it wont. We already try'd that, and I don't wanna try again :-p. Plus I don't feel like paying.

Uhm? I don't really want to save it. I've been trying to break away from it for quite a while now. I lost intrest in it, and thats, that.

Erm, I have no more intrest in it.

We started too, we had a tileset and everything... But then the GFX guy ran into some IRL problems and we couldn't find another.

Warning, what I've written below is only MY opinion:

Frolic is getting shut down? Well, I doubt I will miss it. All I ever see on the forums, are the managers/staff of Frolic talking about how hard they work on it. Yet I tried to play Frolic a couple of times, and it was just crap. It couldn't hold my attention for 5 minutes, and I'm usually pretty open to giving playerworlds a chance.

I'm just wondering what all these painstaking hours of work produced, because I sure don't see anything on the playerworld that seems like it would take so much time to do. Now remember, this is only my opinion, maybe I have ADD, maybe I just don't know what I'm talking about, but it's my opinion nonetheless.

but it also seems as though they were trying to keep it alive for as long as they possibly could, even though it wasn't good enough. They were trying to get something going so some people would play it and have a little fun, and that would have worked quit well if it were about 1-2 years ago, but now it's extremely difficult to attract players when you have a boring old default tileset and nothing too origanal to offer.

Frolic did have a good player count for what it was. ;)

Hey man, it sucks to hear that Frolic has to go down the toilet. It never got the recognition(spelling) it deserved. You made it look awesome, but yea. I had the funnest times on graal with you can cyb. I hope to see you around graal. Keep in touch with me.

Let me just post this globally before I have to respond to 800 IM's that I recieved. I really don't need your guy's pitty. I don't want IM's saying 'Aww, I don't want Frolic to be shut down, it's an awsome server' AND OR IM's saying 'Ohhh let me manage Frolic! I can get it players!' AND OR IM's saying 'Aha it sucks'... infact, I really don't want your guys IM's at all. If you liked Frolic, you'd play it... In this case, actions DO speak better then words.

Mykel, I will talk to you before I shut it down... but you'd have to tell me somthing REALLY worth while in order for me to change my mind.

...Uhh... becomming manager and making it Chaos Faction WOULDNT be saving Frolic. It would just be making another world without paying.

Frolics name was blackened from the start.

Same here. A year or so ago, it was doing alright. It had some pets and jobs. I check Frolic sometimes to see how it's doing and I always see Knuckles on. I liked it the way it was the way before though, because it does get boring after a while. Maybe if Frolic kept on going like that it could have survived.

Is Cybnext gone?
If not,give it back to him..i dont want see frolic shut down. :(

Uhm, cybnext hasnt been on Graal in like 3 months now... I talked to him about it before I made this public, and he said he just doesnt care about it anymore..

Sorry for "reviving an old thread" but i Agree with someone on here who said you should change the name.. Frolicisalready cool enough maybe if you made it Private for a bit hire some new staff get some great new systems maybe a few custom gfx maybe some RPing change the name then release it I msure lots of people will come on it and love it!
