House Upgrades

Maybe this has been already posted, if so tell me. Maybe you should be able to upgrade your house, like add a second floor, or a basement or something instead of making a whole new house next to your current house. I think the ammount of materials to upgrade the house should be slightly more then the usual.

Yea...Maybe like have consturciton inside your house to dig a basement. I think it should involve friends helping or something.Maybe room additions.I want something like a message board so if you share a house,or use a house a a meeting room you can leave and delete messages to you and your friend(s)

I thought about a basement once and how it could be done not to make it too easy... maybe in a way that you can buy stairs, place them in your house (and only the owner can place any, of course, and only one per house, for the basement at least), then you can go down in a house-sized level, filled with rubble, empty minerals, that stuff. First, you hack the minerals down and get, say, plain rubble, some 100 kg a piece, which you have to remove somewhere. Next would be building walls, maybe using 4 logs and 100 stones. A second floor would be nice, too, but even if so, any house shouldn't have more than 2 floors either way.

this wouldnt be to hard to script to the extent of my knowledge for the basement but with everything you'd have to alter the house GFX which wouldnt be that fun to do.

Has been suggested before. Along with extra rooms and a lot more.

it was never added or said why they wouldnt add it so why does it matter. Keep suggesting or else nothing will happen.

Yea..But in order for a change to occur, enough people need to say it should happen. So keep posting about it or it wont happen.

I really like the idea..

I mean then we dont have to make 1 house for a shop..
1 house for storage..
and one house just to live in ..

I mean

If you could add a basement and a top floor..it would be nice like

the basement could be your storage.. you live upstairs and downstairs is like a little shop

Also make it possible to add wings.

Satrek2000 07-05-2003 12:43 AM

Wings and second floors should show on the outside, I'd say, and hence require more new gfx than a basement would - I think it would work with the treasuremap tileset and a bunch of minerals, then maybe replace the tileset after enough stones were put in the back wall using gfx for the standard house building.

not to take pride or anything but i think i was the first one to suggest this when houses first came out well this is sorta spam but once again ithink it would be a good idea at one point i tried making a deck and well lets just say it wasnt pretty. but the house add ons would be cool so that the kings could be recognizable have courtyards and the such maybe encourage PT (player towns)?

[edit]I did have the first house thread XP actually its my first post i never really looked at the forums until january or what ever month houses were publically proposed.....http://forums.graal2001.com/forums/s...threadid=38826[/edit]

Borgie 07-06-2003 07:43 PM

Ya the idea is really good!
I think its hard to do but not impossible...
