New Graal Trainer

Has anyone confirmed if the trainer has a virus or trojan that will send even changed passwords to the creators? I asked Relentless Mirage to send me the Graal Shop program on AIM, and he sent me the trainer, renamed as GraalShop.exe, so I am assuming I now have this virus. I got my password changed, am I still in danger? Also, isn't the creator of this trainer doing Graal somewhat of a favor? Maybe for now on people will be slightly scared to download trainers and such. :rolleyes: Anyway, if you can answer my question, I'd appreciate it! :)

Change your password right now. Delete the thing, run a scan, change your password and you'll be fine. Check your win.ini file for bootup information, IM me and I'll tell you if something is there that shouldn't be. Also check your msconfig.

Anyone else think this all sounds so implausible? Why would he send a disguised trainer if he could've just sent a trojan? How would he benefit from the trainer sending the password away, unless he's linked to the trainer's creators? If he is linked thereto, why the hell would you run an executable that he sent you?

Maybe he's too ignorant to send a trojan. Maybe he IS linked with the creators. I ran the file because I thought it was Graal Shop. :confused:

Why didn't you just use the Graal setup to download it? I wouldn't run EXEs even they were sent by friends.

You people never fail to amaze me. No matter HOW MUCH YOU ARE WARNED, you guys go and do stupid things anyway. unixmad should put a note at the top of the EULA saying

NOTE: We are not responsible for your own stupidity.

Yes, I'm an instant ***** for trusting my friend, all if you say so. Anyway, this thread can be closed now, a nice person kindly helped me out.

It never should have been made.

Fine, in your case you were naive. However, time and time again everyone has been warned about people doing this sort of thing. Did you choose to heed those warnings? No you did not, therefore you had it coming.

Don't say that to Thallen, he's a great guy.

So anyway, on July 4th, the anti-Graal/hackers are planning to get around 100 accounts banned that downloaded a trojan. I'll be ready though >:]

I never directly said that to him. It was a general statement referred to everyone that has done something LIKE what he did. Notice I said "you people", hence not directly referring to an individual.

protagonist 07-02-2003 11:53 PM

You know guys, it's real lame to guttersnipe someone who is in trouble. I'm glad you guys like to pick fights with people who are looking for help.

I'm not necessarily agreeing with them, but he should've scanned the .exe file. That's common sense. :(

Yeah, maybe I should have, but hey, he was a friend and I wasn't thinking about having my account stolen at that time. And thanks Lyndzey and protagonist. :D

feivel 07-03-2003 08:23 AM

On the subject of new trainers, it seems theres one that allows players to adjust their speed, which is making it really hard to pinpoint.
Also lately its like someone is warping players around.
Is this possible?
If so how can we stop this?

If they are indeed doing so then it's most likely the result of a security hole in your CNPC.

I'll try find someone to take a look, thank you.
(could you explain what a security hole is?)

m1nt has made a hack like that before. It has 4 horizontal scrollbars: Facing up, down, left, and right. The middle of the line in your true speed, you can make your speed as slow or as fast as you want.

Sometimes scripters put event blocks in the CNPC that look like this:

NPC Code:

if(actionserverwarp){
//warp the player
}

These blocks catch triggers that can be sent from the clientside portions of NPCs. Often these triggers include information about how the player is to be warped - the worst case is where the account name of the warped player is specified, because then anybody can warp anybody else just by sending an artificial trigger.

This is only one type of security hole, but it's the one that's most likely to be relevant in your case.

if (actionserverwarp){
savelog2 ControlNPC_TriggerAction_Log.txt,' warp ' #F ' #a ' #p(0) ' #p(1) ' #p(2) ';
setlevel2 #p(0),strtofloat(#p(1)),strtofloat(#p(2));
}
nothing about // warp the player
anyway i'll still take your advice and get someone to check it out.

Anything after a '//' is a comment, meaning that the engine ignores it. My '//warp the player' line was meant as a substitute for actual warping code to make it easier to understand. In actuality, the setlevel2 does the warping. You really ought to patch that up ASAP.

Doubtful. 'Enter the RC as root'? That makes no sense. The whole thing stinks of bad bluffing.

So how do you know what these trainers look like?

Oh wait, maybe you saw it in the Graal Shop. :rolleyes:

Personally I would think you would have been banned by now for using trainers. I mean any one who doesnt see it is fooling themselves.
