Stefan's Beef with Thieves

So thieves can't steal.. i suppose everyone's learned to deal with it (basically by not picking it) If stefan dosen't want to deal with stealing and problems caused with it he could just rename the class Rogue. They're the charming swashbuckler types. (rapiers please?) All that would need to be done is instead of taking away Charisma give them a bonus, same with intelligence. The dexterity bonus is already nice, but you can't live off of it, pump that up a bit.

A sub idea.
Dexterity = accuracy. Maybe people hoping to be archers could pick rogue. Just lower the wc and boom. you're set.

We're not all crazy bums with knives you know? Every other class is depicted as awesome and mighty by their picture. A powerfull warrior, a scary barbarian, a victorious sorceror... Thieves? A crazy hobo, with a knife and a sack. Rogue just works better. Robin Hood was one, God help me Aladin was one. :\ Come on Mr Knorr. we've been waiting since Kingdoms came out.

Ghost Pirate 06-29-2003 09:07 PM

Generally all the classes are in need of balance, considering that the wizard warrior barbarians rule the world.

Zach1 06-29-2003 09:08 PM

Good point.

GhettoChild 06-29-2003 09:12 PM

I couldn't Have said it better myself:megaeek:

GhettoChild 06-29-2003 09:15 PM

Some people have put up with it too. One girl is like level 20 something and has adapted to using magic and prayers this whole time while being neglected a special trait...I hate to say it but something should be worked on with that Class.

DragonX 06-29-2003 10:09 PM

Basically, there are no classes. I have tons of spells, every skill, all my skill levels are high. The classes shouldn't really be dependant at the start, as you level your class should change, evolve persay, into more powerful classes.

Limitless Multiclassing sucks, no balance, tons of problems, Graal2002 Gameplay needs a overhaul.

protagonist 06-30-2003 12:16 AM

Yeah, the multi-classing thing is bad. Maybe if you could adapt the traites of one other class, not all of them though.

MKSLAYER 06-30-2003 04:55 AM

(actually for the record us preists dont have a powerfull almighty image XP were just guys that have tunics with way to big collars

GoZelda 06-30-2003 03:15 PM

The priests look like your Grandpa who has gone mentally ill and his this japanese robe cuz he wants to learn Kung-Fu.

Kojilee7 07-11-2003 05:53 PM

We need more balence in classes see how Barb's Rule Kindoms they are the only class who can get 20 20 20 stats when you start

i find that offensive as i take kung fu and frankly that would never happen X_X any ways the new online game i play you have proffesions. you have 250 skill points and you choose what ever you want but only up to 250 skill points. to start out in a class it takes 15 skill points then each additional skill costs -- for the fighting skills lets have initiave things so it goes you-enemy-you-enemy that way its more balanced and you have attacks per round or total attack time to add in weapon speed and maybe AC would be more pronounced?

Amoun 07-12-2003 05:10 AM

last i checked and i may be wrong, anU is a priest, and he owns alot of you :P, barbs are the only class that can get 20 - 20 - 20 true, but all classes are equal, no balance is needed to be done, barb warrior and wiz are just stereotypical classes. The only advantage is some classes start with things other does, example warrior barb - ability to use bow right off, priest wizard, praying and literacy, alchemist , alchemy, thief ( i don't know i never played) basically this is just another ranting of people who think their classes are weaker then others and want to be the strongest *****ing trying to get things 'balanced' when its just an attempt to ruin others playing time, just today my friend and i were playing and we ran into Torankusu and hes like im reporting you im getting all your hiscore logs im gona get you banned or resetted for abusing a bug to level, i was lvling with him the whole time, we didn't use any bugs, and guess why torankusu was bickering, because he was the same lvl as my friend around 30-32, and today my friend is above lvl 40, and toran is barely 33 i think, patehtic bickering, no point, just like baby sitting, alot of you are babies :/

MKSLAYER 07-12-2003 03:59 PM

no no lets put it this way barbarians would be fine if they couldnt learn to read ever that would make things balanced >=O barbarians and fighters are teh classes that screw things up cuz they get scat

I'm not insulting you neither Kung-Fu. Heck, i have green band judo. But you granpa's doesn't know that x.x

UNPTWOPWINNER 07-18-2003 04:05 PM

Yes, keep a barb from learning to read, yes keep us from using IWDs scrolls, yes keep us from getting strong which is the point of a barb. *sigh*

And 20 20 20 stats? Stat potions my friends, use them ,abuse them. Have fun.

The point of classes is to give you a push in a beginning direction. If you feel best leveling with spells earlier on, go priest or wizard. If you wish to jump into swords and bows, be barb or warrior. If you wish to be the guy that makes stuff for others, be alchemist.

Now, every game has a class where you start off at a point where you don't have a directed path. Thief would be the class in this game.

So...I think it's fine.

Tyhm 07-20-2003 12:21 PM

Barbarian wizards = just wrong.

Nuke the classes altogether if you're not gonna restrict them.

Zach1 07-28-2003 08:23 PM

Hear hear!

I agree entirely tyhm.

Just for the record i think barbs should just be un-capable of ever learning Black Wizard Spells, or using Rods with black spell charges, this could help it tone it down, or just make them unable to do any spells only learn skills, that way they can still learn idenfity and perform and etc woodsmen, just no healing and crap, like tyhm said there is alot of super-godly people running around who are barb-wizards and will like ill be in trading tables and see people run in, trap door with fire wall rod and make tons of it, cast a bunchve icestorms then run after the people in the building and slay them all, its like, barbs are physical fighters, not demi-gods.

Yes, but just the same, Priests and Wizards shouldn't be carrying around "OMG HUGE" Axes that can destroy in one hit.

Bleh, I wish the classes were sorted out and restricted, they are more or less "starting packages".
