Dungeon Tiles Template

Does anyone have a template to make custom tiles for the new dungeon generator?
Or can someone make one? I know it would help a lot of people out!

Try editing off of the 2k2 dungeon tiles. That's what I did.

DarkDragoon_Lloyd 06-04-2003 04:49 AM

I tried... =/ Its confusing... I just want a template that is easy to use... Like, red for walls, green for floor, and stuff... =/ It would be a lot easier to use... <=-/

HoudiniMan 06-04-2003 06:17 AM

the 'templates' are in the dungeongenerator folder as different mini-tilesets

DarkDragoon_Lloyd 06-04-2003 06:31 AM

That's not a template, those are tiles... =/
I want that in template format that I can build off of, just... like... an outline... =/

Sort of like the old templates for making head, sword, and shield gifs? I know what you mean, but I don't know of any template as of yet.

It was just released yesterday... But... can someone please make one and post it? I would get my GFX team to do it, but they are all afraid of making tiles...

Um, there are no floor tiles in the cavetile map. The floor tiles are seperate and are actually part of the GK's inside tiles.

DarkDragoon_Lloyd 06-05-2003 03:20 AM

I know, I know, but there are parts of the floor on the tiles... =/
Gah... Oh well... x_X

I think you need the type 1 tileset. Like the type era uses.

Yes, I am using that type of tileset on this project, but that isn't what I mean! Well... it kinda is... =/

In the /graal2001/dungeongenerator/example2/ folder is a file called tiles_housewall.png (or something like that), with the tiles Graal2002 uses in its haunted house dungeon. I gave this file to one of my Graphics Team people along with instructions expalining what I wanted... After a while, he showed me what he had done so far, and what he had done so far looked right, so I put it into the folder and generated a dungeon using it, and there were a few errors, but they got fixed... So then he finished it, and it kinda worked, but some of the walls didn't fit into place and stuff... =/

Because Graphics people don't make levels, they usually don't understand how tiles fit together. It would be great if I were good enough to make my own tilesets and stuff, as I know where the tiles would go and stuff on a template, but I can't do that.

What I would like would be some kind of guide template showing how each of the tiles fits together or something... Maybe someone cold color that tiles_wallshorror.png so that the area with the floors on it is white(at the top, see how there are floors are at the bottom?), the North Walls are red, the East Walls are yellow, the South Walls are green, the West Walls are blue, the North-West Corner is purple, and so on... =/

Attached Image:
I circled the areas I mean, but I want them all colored in without cracks, pillar things, cob webs, etc... =/

I think you should post this in the Future Improvements thread. Maybe Stefan or some of the graphics people could make a new template.

I'm lucky because I know how tiles would fit togeather on a level.
Thats partly why I make most of my graphic in ms paint because I can easily make tiles and then test them in ms paint.

Bleh. MS paint is the suck :p I'll stick with my own tools for tile editing/creating. ;)
