v3.0 for Windows!

The preview files are released (download them using setup.exe).

I get an illegal page fault error when I try to run it though so :(

Androk 06-02-2003 05:37 AM

Bah x.x Here are a few options that I found Missing in v3 right now.

1) I can't Mass Message! One of the most important Features!
2) I can't Manage My Player List, so that PMs will be at the top, niether can i ignore Mass Messages, or see Buddies or Staff in a special list.
3) I can't seem to turn off the map x.X

The following Iike:
I like how the layout of menus looks x.X
I like the new screenie taking way, short and fast =O Alt +2 and you got a scrennie! No need to show where to save!

Kronan 06-02-2003 05:37 AM

Alexander 06-02-2003 06:43 AM

DragonX 06-02-2003 07:47 AM

magicbud3344 06-02-2003 08:26 AM

Some people like adhesive tape, but I prefer blue flags!

Hrmmm, I see the playerlist still sucks like on Linux, and still transperencies don't always work. I also am encountering the bug which places an invisible barier in the level stopping you from passing. Levels won't connect, and I don't have the option to only see one level selected. The map doesn't seem to want to turn on (at least on classic) when I press M, and I have trouble with my Q menu on classic as well (see attachment).

I also personaly don't like not being able to size the window to how I like it, and would like to be able to choose to have the F7 list in a seperate window (like it is in the Delphi versions), also, I dislike having to press Tab to talk (maybe I'm just too used to using my mouse to go back anf forth).

zell12 06-02-2003 08:34 PM

I tried opening the new version twice on different computers -- one from here and one from school. Both times I got a "illegal operation" error when I tried opening it.

What operating system?

Johnny_5 06-02-2003 09:43 PM

I have XP , and it runs great :D

--Chris-- 06-02-2003 10:07 PM

I use XP Home...it runs fine until I switch levels or try to use the "setnick" command...then it freezes and stops responding =/

Johnny_5 06-02-2003 10:13 PM

Wel i'm assuming its the same exact thing as the linux version except compiled for windows so it probably has the same bugs with the nick and etc. Most of the problems are listed in this thread: http://forums.graal2001.com/forums/s...threadid=44944

Thats just a basic error message. And that box is there so that errors are sent to microsoft in the hope that they can fix their own software.

Darklux 06-02-2003 11:29 PM

Anyone can tell me how the linux version is?
Iam switching os in a few days (only will keep winblowsxp for some games). So i will probaply get vip until the test will end.

Ghost Pirate 06-03-2003 08:46 AM

Then perhaps you should go open setup.exe and know about it, considering it's there for download.

Shiftk03- 06-03-2003 11:43 AM

Stefan re-upped 2.9-1 due to all the bugs, 3.0 will be released at a later date for Windows users.

I upgraded to 2.9-1 for my default client and got the 3.0 preview in the same deal.

Last night, in fact.

zell12 06-03-2003 01:23 PM

Thats all I got. :o

The 2.19 is the default Windows version, but v3 can be downloaded and tested now. It will be announced, need to get more feedback from the Mac users. Yesterday we uploaded a new setup which should fix problems with the setup, haven't got reports about if its working yet.

Hmmm, it seems to work.
There seems to be a problem with the graphic-drawing capability, at least in the first screen. I've attached what looks to be the problem. When I move the mouse over it, it disappears for awhile and comes back.

zell12 06-03-2003 09:27 PM

I run 98SE, it should work if you re-download setup(delete your old one first and clear temp offline files).

thesaiyan 06-03-2003 09:52 PM

Well the preview v3 for windows was working fine for me except the minor stuff like transparentices and whatnot.. But other than that it worked fine until yesterday when I ran the exe my computer totally wacked out.. The screen went gray and started flashing the start for v3 and back to gray and everything was weird. I couldn't close anything only way to stop it was hit the restart button.. Im running ME by the way..

Sounds like it hates your graphics card. You could try setting it to D3D.

You sure its the card? v3 was working fine when I first used it.. Like nothing wrong besides the bugs everyone else pointed out. Then I used it yesterday and it spazzed out on me..:(

I'm not sure, but generally when stuff happens like that I just mess around until I've tried every possible fix. Then I get ahold of tech support.

Rogue Spear I couldn't play until I disabled Direct3D. I didn't even know what Direct3D was when I disabled it, but I found it and thought it would be cool to mess with it. It worked. So it's just a mess and test thing. If something bad happens, fix it through safe mode or format.

petro1212 06-08-2003 04:23 PM

Well i dunno but i have Xp Home Edition and it works fine for me Except for the fact that i aint VIP so i cant use it online :'(
But the other stuff works
And the new look is great.

Inferno 06-08-2003 05:01 PM

when the the c++ version become bugfree and all that stuff will it be so you only can use v3 and not the delphi version anymore?
