Current Status of Graal Bomy Moon
 

Well, it seems Graal Bomy Moon will be going under some serious changes in the next few weeks. As some have read, and some haven't, Jeff has resigned; this meaning a new manager(s?) is in order. I have acknowledged that you people want to see Tseng as the future manager of the server, as I do. I recently stumbled into a meeting with Stefan and a few of the other staffers. Anyway, we are deciding what direction the server should be going. I'd like to know some of your ideas on the issue. Currently Stefan still needs to talk to unixmad about the classic status. Hopefully we can get everything arranged. So, I'll close with these words.

Expect the unexpected.

I hope the server turns to the direction of total Roleplaying. With the amount of people it will generate from classic, it could easily succeed.

If it goes total RPing, ghostie, I quit. It wouldn't even be 2k1 then. x.x;

Anywhoo. If anyone ever elects me as manager, (Why you would, I have no idea.), I would take the chance, but I highly doubt I would do any good as one. I've never been in a management position, and I've been really busy with things IRL lately. In other words: Don't elect me, unless there's no one else to elect.

Note: If someone was already selected, I didn't know when I made this post, so don't yell at me. ;o

Change it so people can go on for more than 15 seconds. :(

Well, Tseng is the obvious winner.

I hope that Graal2k1 can go back to it's glorious, over 20person, old self. It probably can't go BACK, but it can get close. (Truth is, there's a server with "leeties" graphics and whatnot. Some people just ain't leaving.)

Leave it as is, balance of role-playing and economy.

i mean hats and stuff is pretty fun, unless you did find some way for total RPing to work.

all i have to say is Ghost as the RP Admin as he was before, i think he did the best job.

My god you guys "OMG I LOVE ECONOMY YET I NEVER PLAY THE SERVER." Face the facts dude, economy like it has in the past HAS NOT WORKED. So don't tell me Your economy bullcrap is good or remotely fun. Sure it might be fun for 5 minutes or so. I mean hell...you guys play Graal: Kingdoms which "is/should be" total RPing. You guys are so closed minded its not even funny. Total Roleplaying will work..don't look at valikoria for a example of roleplaying...trust me I have stuff that certainly can fly if I'm given the ability to do it.

It's all about balance.

But, it's no fun without more people and more updates. THAT'S why people don't play the server. Making the server total RPing is a waste, I mean, that would turn it from a mainly economy based and fun event server with a bit of RPing, to a total RPing mess.

Wait "economy based and fun event server" how is having to smash your finger up and down for around 10 hours to even get anything fun? Oh and your events? You new young bloods took 2k1 and throw it into the fire and pumped out a "WORK BASED SERVER." I also don't think you understand what total Roleplaying is Its pretty much REAL ROLEPLAYING, in a nutshell. Hell you don't even know what good it can be. I mean your so use to the current crap that is going on right now. Total "economic" mess is more like it.

Also when 2k1 was reset everybody was on it..yet people got bored of its "economic" bull crap and left...ECONOMY DOESN'T WORK ON 2001 PERIOD!

Total RPing would require things like throwing people in jail for PKing, which is quite simply too extreme.

Kingdoms is supposed to be a MUD-type-thing. THAT'S where massive RPing should be held. 2k1 was always more built on economy, I don't see what making it all RPing would do. A lot of the community wouldn't come back, like Farin, and many other PKers and economy lovers. Making the server all RPing is basically ripping what it used to be known for away from it, stamping a new thing on it, throwing in new rules, and calling it better than ever. It doesn't work like that. If you want a total RPing server, make one, but 2k1 will never be all RPing. Just stop trying to convince everyone to make it total RP. :|

Events started with server
Roleplaying started with Medival (Dustari)
Collecting or what you guys like to call "economy" started with Hats

Maybe I should drop it..maybe I should cause everybody who wants roleplaying stop trying to make it on 2k1 and lets see what happens to it...Graal2001 will die again.

Ghost both you and I know very well the reason why everyone is on Kingdoms and not 2k1 is because Kingdoms has slightly better gfx, music etc and gives a better impression to the ****s which causes them to stay and the majority will obviously follow. The only way for 2k1 to get back on it's feet is if a mass of 60+ people simulateously logs on 2k1 and start playing for a while...then the players would shift again. It's not unpopulated because kingdoms is an "rp/suppose to be rp" server...that can be seen by just logging on and looking at half the f00s that play, they don't know rp if it bit them in the face.

2 of the things that will occur before 2k1 will be rereleased:

-Jobs will be made more fun
-Brand-new kingdoms (Not just renamings of old ones...x.x) will be released! Soon I will post some details about the process, but basics: kingdom ideas will be available for everyone to submit, and about 5-7 of us will take a vote on which ones we would like to see!

The key to everything is balance.

I don't want a staff position. I'd just like to contribute a little to the only server I actually ever enjoyed. I owe it that much at least.

Huh? If you're refering to the game being part RPG, that's not what we're talking about. We're talking about actual ingame RPing. Not the genre. >_>

There are many jobs on Kindgoms that I think are fun to do. I think we are trying to make the jobs easier for people,and more enjoyable rather than having to mine,and craft gold for hours just to get a sword. We are bringing up new ideas every day. It just takes some work.

I honestly don't see anything special or better about Kingdoms than Bomy Moon. I don't know why people preffer mindlessly leveling over RPing. I think the only reason people stay over there is because the classic ****ies who just got p2p all go on kingdoms. The player database is VERY important and the only way to get Bomy Moons back is to either go Classic or make it total rping.

I would vote Kamuii for manager again,he was a good manager,always posting about what was happening on 2k1.

Thank you for the vote of confidence Kuza, but what i have mentioned is only the surface of the many things we need to address...

-development of new things has started to kick into a higher gear, and several interesting new things will be able to be found soon
-we are working on making a few 'waiting' levels for players to hang out in; at the very least a level for hanging out and a level for pking, there will be a sign which lists some of the things we are working on (to encourage players to check back often), but without giving too many specific details :)
-I will let out one more thing, the events will be improved, and the so-called "economy" will be more interesting related to events, and there will be more/better events of both competitions/games and RP events.

Do you wear contacts? Maybe they are a little off. Glasses? Hmm, maybe they need another layer? Otherwise, I am confused how someone could hae not felt RPing atleast once on G2k1.

Well I know they had RP Events. I never played those. And well i suppose 'Stefans Quest' could be classed as RP? If not give me examples to refresh my memory!

If you keep screwing with the economy, it's going to keep getting worse.

Reality example:

President Bush trying to get overtime pay denied. (So if you work overtime, you don't get paid any more than your regular pay. i.e. You won't get paid at all after your job is done.)

BUT BACK TO THE POINT:

Graal2001 was semi-roleplaying. Roughly 85% of the population would do *****ic stuff (i.e. "HAY WTF NUB I KELD U NUB DIEEEE#$!#@$" or staff [namely Police] letting their fellow kingdom members out of jail)

I don't believe we need another roleplaying server in the Graal community. We just need a fun server. Hopefully no more D-bashing for money will be necessary for currency and whatnot.

If you keep with the economy, its only going to be worse.
That was during the noted "Classic Invasion" that ssome of the older members so called it. Before that during the times when all the orginal kingdom kings played, was the good times.
I believe we need a real roleplaying server, and we have around 10 classic fun/craptastic servers at our disposal as it is.
