Back to PWA!

Well, after a long break from playing Graal and posting frequently on the forums, I guess I am back. A few days ago, I was offered my job back as a member of the PW team as PWA, and I accepted. Reasons for my return:

1) After I quit the PWA, I realized that was one of the only things I really loved about Graal. It wasn't the power, it just kept me busy and required, at times, some critical problem solving and analytical skills which I have realized helped me in real life.

2) I felt sort of bad just "abandoning" the team when I left along with Torankusu, leaving Angel all alone, who quit soon after.

3) I want to be able to continue to help the Graal community.

4) I have a bit more time on my hands now, even though exams are coming up, I still work, and do other extracurricular activities, but I feel I can come AIM and the client enough to deal with an problems you have.

While some of you may think "omfg he's saying bs" well then that's your opinion. I know right now there really is no team out there, you're all confused about the new playerworld hosting policy, and lots of PW's need to be reviewed and inspected. Well, I can say that the applications that you all sent in are being reviewed, I have no idea what's going to happen to current/upcoming PW's with the playerworld hosting and yeah, reviews still probably eed to be done, which will come in time. I guess I'll get up to speed as time goes by.

So anyhow, my contacts:
AIM: aftershock766
e-mail: [email protected]

That's the only AIM I use, and I hope to be on a couple hours every day, some days I may be busy but you shouldn't have a hard time hunting me down for weeks on end. Please try to be patient if you don't get an imemdiate response from me on AIM, I'm most likely responding to others. For e-mails, make the title for your e-mail relevant, like !PW business! or PW question! or something, as I have to sift through lots of junk mail daily.

Spark910 04-30-2003 10:03 PM

Yes, I think you were liked by almost everyone. So I doubt people will think you are talking BS.

ETD 04-30-2003 10:27 PM

w00t w00t!
i'm glad you're back..
i saw you sign on AIM, and i was actually going to ask you if you would/were come/ing back to PWA... then i thought i shouldn't, because i didn't think you would, and i would just be annoying you
:P

mhermher 04-30-2003 11:47 PM

Aftershock, i'm not saying you won't do good.. i know you'd do greate.. but this is kinda biased.. lots of people had to do the application form, and Moon God didn't get it because he was.. 2 hours late? But now you just came and joined?
It's a bit unfair..

Oh well..
life's unfair.

I'm not saying he wassn't.. i'm simply stating that if others get applications, he should too.. same as, i quit manager on serveria.. and 1 year later when the new manager have made the server as best, and is hiring a co manager, the old one just comes in without takeing the application..

same happened on dino valley, chacha and madman quit.. then they just came back and ruled the server?

Even if I had made it and was hired I would gladly give up my spot to AfterShock if need be. We all need to keep this in mind on this, do what is best for Graal always. Put your petty differences aside and do what you know in your heart is the best thing to do for Graal. We all can't be Global or PWA but we ALL can be the best at helping the entire community of Graal by doing what we know is right for it can't we? Griping and complaining won't help Graal or make AfterShock feel any better will it? Be happy for him and Graal for he IS the right man for the job, do what you all know is right, make him feel what he did is the right choice for him and the Game. For once put your egos and pride aside and say " Welcome back AfterShock!" the PWA and Graal needs you. ;)

You know, Tyrial, you're sort of right. At first I thought that this might not be the best idea because I know that there are perfectly other capable people out there that can be a PWA that submitted their application and waited. But I was offered this opportunity again, I did not demand it or ask for it again. It's sort of like when someone offers you a million dollars. Of course, there are lots of other people out there who need it more or are waiting for their "big break" as well, but are you going to turn it down? I would seize the opportunity.

To those that submitted their application and were wanting to be the PWA or part of the team, I appreciate that you're all being good sports about it. I know a few people that could have easily blasted me for my decision as I know they were waiting for this moment but have had only good words to say.

MadWolf 05-01-2003 01:57 AM

Nice to see you back Shock. :D

HoudiniMan 05-01-2003 02:46 AM

Yes they need a team, 5-4 reviewers not 2!

No. He does not review. He helps me personally with RC functions and beyond. Another team will review of trust worthy people from the application to the pwa.

Ahhh, ok, sounds good, :)

Nice to hear from u nem :) , hows be goin the applications?

zell12 05-01-2003 10:16 PM

I like inspecting playerworlds, reviewing is probably fun, but it would make me feel bad declining the playerworld, but at the same time, laughing so hard i'd fall off my chair because of the stuff this person sent me. Just wouldn't enjoy that. :)

Cynicism 05-02-2003 03:07 AM

Since the forums are the only thing I have to do with Graal anymore, I can't really say that I'm busting at the seams with joy; but since others are happy that you're back then I guess it's a good thing. I hope you enjoy your second term in the PWA, Aftershock.

Spark910 05-02-2003 05:46 PM

By what I said Nem, I meant that the even if he did review, you'd probably need a bigger team to review through, or else PWs may get up if both people are only good at looking at levels for an example. But that wouldn't happen *runs*

And Ex, I suppose either team would be fun to work on. Possibly inspecting a bit more as you get to monitor the developments of PWs to keep them on track, but either team would have its pros and cons.

Don't you think this is somewhat presumptuous post? Could you please explain what you mean by "Possibly inspecting a bit more as you get to monitor the developments of PWs to keep them on track"? PWA doesn't inspect a PW till they are " finished with it. Sorry but your post seem to be more like you are controlling the development and that is not the purpose of the PWA, that is why I ask you to please explain further what you meant by that.

Cynicism 05-02-2003 09:30 PM

...I assume most people on here don't grasp the full concept of the job that a PWA member has, but carry on as if they have not a hint of ignorance.

zell12 05-02-2003 09:38 PM

MG, all the playerworlds are under development. No one server is complete, therefor the inspecting team of the PWA will be monitoring it, making sure that they "keep it legal."

Yes Ex sort of answered it. I am saying that inspection could make sure that a PW has no illegal material, has a good or big enough staff team, no problems, and is still updating (by this I mea, if it has a low playercount it should be doing something to higher it, if there are no developments, and the server is at a hault for a long time, it could be the end for the PW as the staff aren't working and the players dont want to play it.)

Yes I know, I agree that post was a bit muffled. Anyway, there you have it! *runs*

I am very aware of what the PWA is designed to do I was only making sure Spark knew what the job entails. Servers are complete to the point of going online and that is when the PWA inspects it. Servers constantly evolving to remain playable and interesting to new players is common knowedge. PWs change to attact new players old loyal players stay no matter what, that is the reason PWs change , it is nothing more than good marketing to attact more markets.

Yes I know what it entails. My post before was very unclear, I can see how you said what you said. Yes I know that PWA doesn't control developments on PWs.

Welcome back, good to see you =)

Spark910 05-04-2003 11:11 AM

I haven't seen aftershcok for a bit! I'll have to catch up later on AIM with him. Well I suppose its busy stuff joining again, getting some things sorted out.

G_yoshi 05-04-2003 07:26 PM

(insert standard plattitude(s)) :)

Anyway, this place is starting to feel more like it used to. Would be nice if certain people came back but chances of that are probably nil.

PrinceDark 05-05-2003 12:04 AM

Hey Aftershock you need to come to n-pulse so I can pk you.

Such a tempting offer, to log onto a PW and increase ones deaths.

Yeah, although, somethings are better with a few new faces. Although yes, I'd like to see a few people I haven't for a while.
