Create Earth Wall

When I recently started playing again I noticed 3 things...

#1, the F2 RPG window lists Create Earth Wall as requiring 0 spell points to cast.

#2, the Spell QuickMenu does not list Create Earth Wall.

#3, when I type /cast Create Earth Wall and try to cast it, I get the message "Your spell fizzles."

What's up with this spell? Has it been removed?

There are some other spells that do this.

My guess is that they are being worked on ..

.. and instead of casting a buggy spell, it just doesn't cast at all.

Stefan thought the spell was pointless, along with alot of other ones I had to argue with him about telling him that they were not.

Look at it this way, they weren't removed, so rhey might be repaired. Plus, don't we all trust in zell's negotiating skills? ;)

It's not useless .. if it were to work properly, it could block magic and players/monsters .. that's pretty useful ..

I like create firewall better :]

That's earth to dust.

Normally they should not appear in books and scrolls anymore. You can use fortifications and other things to make blocking walls, need to fix those though (protected against earth-to-dust). If you could just add blocking walls then that could easily be abused to annoy other people or get people stuck.

What about this:

Earth wall creates a wall of, well, earth, but something more like sand. It doesn't block movement, but it slows it, and blocks some spells (maybe projectiles only). After a time the earth wall will disappear, because it slowly goes back into the ground. It'd be like climbing a hill when you go through it -- you are slowed but can still move.

Just an idea that could keep it even and make sure people don't abuse it.

If you remove the effect of earth to dust to destroy normal forts...then the spell is useless!! no one in a war uses magic barriers, because you can walk around those...
