The Zormite Republic...

Today, Samurai Kingdom was dissolved. It has now become a portion of the Zormite Republic, which is also a newly formed government which has replaced the Archigos monarchy.

I was actually planning the reformation of Zormite for some time. The idea of merging Zormite and Samurai was largely Rahz's idea, and was not part of my original plan, but it is a good thing I think.

I had to move from California to Tennessee getting close to two months ago. It has been an incredible hassel aquiring a new computer (left old one in CA). After moving out here, I started using a terrible computer and tried to sign on and keep morale up, talking to people and staying active---but I couldnt move at all barely. My speed said 2.533 yet 1.000's would swim faster than me, and skeletons could keep up with me. When both Forest and Samurai redid their kingdoms at roughly the same time, I lost alot of good loyal members. It sorta made me sad and was just that much harder to attempt to get on semi-daily.:\

Anyways thats why I wanted a change in Zormite, because I'm hoping a new beginning would help bring Zormite back to its Golden Age.

A member wipe and rank wipe have been conducted. A new constitution has been enacted which I posted a while ago in the Zormite forums. The political party I will be heading will most probably be NAPZ, which is obviously short for a phrase I'm not prepared to announce quite yet. ;)

Sorry to all those who were removed from Zormite, I wont be really adding people again until I have my priorities straight and I can get this mess cleaned up.

Hmm well I dont know what else to say...any questions?

ENFORCE RPING.
I'm sick of people in samurai that can't RP. Unless you want to be labeled as a non-rping kingdom, you WILL need to enforce RPing.

Kaiser2 04-25-2003 04:06 PM

*Ahem* *Uses his big communist political voice* Yes, ve vill enforce ze "ArPe" rules onto ze kingdom of Zormite, zere vill be "ArPe" events vith much feasting and drinking ze vine, eithzer zat, or zat was just a regular Friday afternoon. Anywayz, any member of ze Zormite Republic may give ideas for ze events, and ve vill plan and have them occur. Rank promotions are based on ze "ArPe" skills of ze individual. Good day.

LordZen 04-25-2003 04:29 PM

Yes rank promotion will be based only on merrit now. Before I had that system for parts of my government, but people seemed to enjoy looking over that and criticizing me for the rest...even though merrit still played a role in those other sections.

Also, the former Samurai part still resembles..well.."Samurai". I cant do to much about it at this time. I am leaving in 9 minutes to North Carolina and I wont be back until tomorrow night. Anyways, yes there will be reforms. I also will make some documentation for the state's only recognized political party, and add 2 amendments to the new Constitution once I have that party ironed out.

ReaperJ 04-25-2003 10:59 PM

Samruai has a few issues with the name Zormite Republic, i had it changed to that last night, but zen and i need to talk about our name before we move on, however i guess he wont be on for 2 days? Anyway i changed it to "The Republic" for now but we need to settle on some name. heh

But they aren't supposed to be ssdkljasfdl that is the stupidest thing ever. The first Zormite Emperor didn't even have a Z name.

*AHEM* The Romans were a republic. End.

CheeToS2 04-26-2003 08:28 PM

Zen's new title is "Dictator"
who wants to join a dictatorship, and how can you have a republic if the leader is a dictator?

MKSLAYER 04-26-2003 08:36 PM

zormite is still the "Zormite Alliance or what eva" and samurai is "The Republic"

Kaiser2 04-26-2003 09:45 PM

You zill join us or else...vell, ve von't kill you...but your body vill never be found...

I've already seen people wearing dumb names on tags e_e

Kaiser2 04-26-2003 10:13 PM

Then tell them to fix their nick and if they won't comply, gimme names.

busyrobot 04-27-2003 02:25 AM

Question:

Hypothetically,- just hypothetically now - if the Shogun were to say, recruit people who cannot RP, fail to punish PKers, constantly badmouth all the other kingdoms, lie, complain, etc, and run a poor republic all round, and only have support of, well, powergamers who like not getting kicked out for Pking, uh, can Zen boot him out?

...still figuring out how the hierchy works....

oh, and also, will they do a tag wipe too like the western half of the republic did?

Kaiser2 04-27-2003 02:44 AM

Yes, Zen can, and...not sure about the tag wipe, maybe they will.

CheeToS2 04-27-2003 02:47 AM

yeah zormite had a tag wipe, and I probably won't rejoin.

LordZen 04-27-2003 05:51 AM

I had rahz remove ranks which didnt have to do with the military.

I'm allowing the samurai side to retain their oriental-oriented military structure (lol). I didnt think that would be such a big deal, and I didnt want the members of Samurai to feel like Zormite is comming in and conquering them--because it didnt. We just merged, and the shogun willingly offered to be the military branch for Zormite.

Rahz will retain the title of Shogun. But his role has somewhat changed.

Tseng 04-27-2003 04:42 PM

I love the realistic government structure.

I can really imagine this occuring in the middle ages.

Oh, and for your learning pleasure:

Quote:

dictatorship

n : a form of government in which the ruler is an absolute dictator (not restricted by a constitution or laws or opposition etc.)
Quote:

republic

n : a political system governed by the people or their representatives

MKSLAYER 04-27-2003 06:04 PM

i choose the republic =_=

Kaiser2 04-27-2003 09:00 PM

Yeah, Tseng, we're a Republic, except controlled by a dictator :D

Tseng 04-27-2003 10:27 PM

Mutually exclusive words x.x

LordZen 04-29-2003 01:23 AM

Whoa whoa. Maybe Dustari is rooted in the medievel era, but that doesnt mean the other kingdoms are. Example: I dont recall any mention of pirates in the middle ages (refering to CP).

Graal Kingdoms does not have a specific era it is set in. You have swords..and gokarts, etc.

And Ceasar technically was ruling the Roman Republic...but he excercised absolute power. Its how you manipulate the established laws that allow for such things to happen, that and military takeover.

Now, to counter your deffinitions :)

Our constitution does not limit the power of the ruling party's senior official in any way. Nor does our law, as that person is given sole authority to amend the constitution. Infact, there is no opposition, either. As in, there is no opposing political groups. Just one party.
Quote:

dictator
n [L, fr. dictare] (14c) 1 a: a person granted absolute emergency power; esp: one appointed by the senate of ancient Rome.
Omi, a dictator in the Roman Republic? Here is further background:
Quote:

Dictator
In the Roman republic, a temporary magistrate with extraordinary powers.

Nominated in times of crisis by a consul, recommended by the Senate, and confirmed by the Comitia Curiata, the dictator's term was six months or the duration of the crisis, and he had authority over all other magistrates. By 300 BC his powers were limited; no dictators were chosen after 202. The dictatorships of Sulla and Julius Caesar were a new form with almost unlimited powers. Caesar became dictator for life just before his assassination; afterward the office was abolished.

Zormite is ruled by the Nationalist Archist Party of Zormite (NAPZ)...The senior official of the ruling party is who is given the title Dictator. See, my Republic is ruled by the people's representatives, who in turn vested full authority in me. Heh, see how that works?

Kaiser2 04-29-2003 01:30 AM

Yes, and Zen has advisors (like me) who he can refer to if he is unsure of a decision, he does not have to listen to us, but if he wants to follow our advice, he will.

LordZen 05-01-2003 05:34 AM

And I think morrolan knows full well that I sleep much better at night making sure I get his opinion on things.

Kaiser2 05-01-2003 05:45 AM

yeah...I'm so well loved by all my friends...yet I have no significant other...I feel sad :[
