The New Update..

My graal takes literally 3 minutes to start up.. and I JUST reformatted 30 minutes ago o_o!

Anyone else having this problem..?

Christian 04-07-2003 01:45 PM

Download Drivers for your Graphic Card.
Without these Drivers your pc is very slow :|

What processor and speed are you running it at?

Christian 04-07-2003 03:30 PM

Download DirectX.
On the school Computers it needs alot of time to load because of old DirectX Version.

Spark910 04-07-2003 03:31 PM

Someone I know has got the new version but cant connect at all anymore! ()_()

rewwer1 04-07-2003 03:47 PM

My graal server list used to take 1 mintue to start up (literally) now it takes 2 seconds! woot!

Kinatt 04-07-2003 04:37 PM

The school Computers.
They got a old DirectX version and its hard/near impossible to play Graal Kingdoms.
+ without Graphic Card drivers all get showed by the Processor and this:
No Driver + No DirectX = Need to use Processor
Need to use Provessor = less Recources
less Recources = Graal need alot Recources so ;X

Christian 04-07-2003 06:58 PM

Without Graphic Card windows is using your RAM.
Then it got less RAM for graal.

If your Computer got less then 256 MB RAM then it can happen.
Thats my argument :\

but graal is loading images and things like that baka

Christian 04-07-2003 07:46 PM

Without Drivers your Computer think you got no graphic card

Kinatt 04-07-2003 07:59 PM

Well, a few weeks ago Stefan said it should only take a few more days... so in about two months, I would guess.

Before you decide to re-post the same wrong answers you've made throughout this thread, go back and use your literacy to read Kaimetsu's responses.

And I've already explained why that isn't a problem.

they do they do they have to process them and change them as how the gfx card works, baka

melissa1988 04-08-2003 04:36 PM

Prcoessing and image and loading it are not the same thing.

Loriel 04-08-2003 07:03 PM

It has nothing to do with graphics cards.
As Kaimetsu has pointed out, the card has pretty much nothing to do until you start playing. Also, Windows comes with default drivers that support almost any card to a certain degree, certainly enough to start Graal (although the colors won't look very nice). If drivers were completely missing, you could not even start Windows.
Just for the record, I have no graphics card at all and can do lots of stuff.

Uhm, ya, sorry, but I have no idea either to fix the problem of the original poster.

Neglegence2002 04-08-2003 08:41 PM

Its your hard drive rpm. It determines how fast your informaton is read to sent to the processer to be DISPLAYED by the graphics card. Plus lack of RAM could be the problem.

melissa1988 04-08-2003 11:49 PM

No graphics card? wtf? Integrated video or somethin'?

ckb1985 04-09-2003 02:50 AM

I have integrated video thats set at 128 mb and its ddr so its not so bad although the down side is all the ram is on the same buss that was so it puts more load on the buss which makes every thing a little slower then if I didnt have integrated oh did I mention this is a notebook so graphics arnt priority

Judge_S 04-09-2003 03:13 AM

I could be wrong, but I think the Graal servers are having real problems right now. About 2 hours ago, everything went fine on the client. Now the client is loading up the server list half the time, and the actual server mabye one-third the time. As it is, Graal Kingdoms has almost virtually crashed - and Stefan is on fixing it.

HoudiniMan 04-10-2003 09:08 AM

I've found that a fresh install of Graal will load about 10 seconds faster than a install of Graal with thousands (literally) or heads and swords and shields and whatnot and level codes... This time is probably compensated for in the re-downloading of these items during game play but you might want to try dumping your graal folder and reinstalling it... I dunno. But i have a pretty fast system with 1024mb of RAM.

funnylinkwantsbomys 04-10-2003 04:28 PM

All i can say is wait 3 minutes ;D be patient if you cant fix it :P
