Upcoming Playerworlds

If you have an upcoming playerworld, or know someone that is working on one, then I got some questions.

1) What is the theme of your playerworld.
2) Who is the manager?
3) Who is the NPC Admin for the playerworld?
4) How much experience does the NPC admin and Manager have?
(please list all jobs you've held in the past)
5) About how long do you think it will take until you are ready to submit what you have created?

I find it funny that you only list the 'NPC Admin' and not LAT Chief, or GAT, or anything else...

anyways:

1) the theme is mythology.. elves, dwarves, and humans
2) me, ETD
3) Cyrix
4) i've been GP, ET Chief, Guilds Admin on 2 servers, was supposed to be LAT for n-pulse 2 times, but never got a tag, umm.. probably other stuff 0.o i'm not sure about Cyrix... all i know is that he's doing a great job with the NPC's, and that's all that matters to me =P
5) 2 months is my guess

i think you should also ask:

6) how long have you been working on it actively?
7) about how many finnished levels will it be when sent in?

for EoA, the answers for those would be:
6) 6 months
7) about 400+

1) What is the theme of your playerworld.
Medieval fantasy. Action/adventure/roleplaying.

2) Who is the manager?
Konidias

3) Who is the NPC Admin for the playerworld?
There isn't one.

4) How much experience does the NPC admin and Manager have? (please list all jobs you've held in the past)
I have managed 2k1 for a short time, I was gamemaster for 2k2, I've handled about every job under the sun.

5) About how long do you think it will take until you are ready to submit what you have created?
I don't think any playerworld manager in their right mind knows the answer to this question. The only way I would be able to give this answer, is if my playerworld was already "complete" and I was just busy adding extra things and bug testing. Which I'm not. :p

The 5 questions I asked was to see what kind of playerworld was being made, and how much experience the manager and npc amin has. People get to view the answers and check out the competition.
I didn't ask about levels because anyone can make nice levels. It's the NPC's that keep the players occupied and bring life to the levels.

Follow a great story line.Be like "in the game".
You'll have never nothing to do :-)

2) Who is the manager?
Me

3) Who is the NPC Admin for the playerworld?

4) How much experience does the NPC admin and Manager have?
The Manager *me* got Experience in the following things:

-
Manager of a Multiplayer Game,
Service and Main Admin on a IRC Network,
Service Admin on a Server system,
Webmaster of some sites (professional),
Game Master of a Multiplayer Game
...
-
LAT/Chief - GAT/Chief - NAT/Chief - FAQ/Chief - GP/Chief - Events Team/Chief - Bug/Chief - SFX/Chief - Guild/Chief - Admin - Manager/-Co Manager.

Currently got no graal work, I quited.

5) About how long do you think it will take until you are ready to submit what you have created?

Because, aside from design, NPCs are the most important thing.

o_O I hope (really hope) by design you mean graphics. Because really, I believe graphcis to be at or above NPCs in importance, and ideas are second. NPCs are third but still very important - about a 35% - 30% - 27% - 8% balance I believe (Graphics - Ideas - NPCs - everything else)

1) What is the theme of your playerworld.
Hmm, probably years after the world is destroyed...so seemingly middle ages, with a touch of ruins of technology (no...there won't be stupid laser guns) under the oceans and within deep caverns o_O.

2) Who is the manager?
Well, I don't plan on giving titles to people, it only causes problems. But, I am.

3) Who is the NPC Admin for the playerworld?
Idiotic. Very stupid to have "admins" for it only causes corruption. I would rather not answer this as it only applies to PWs with a classic mind.

4) How much experience does the NPC admin and Manager have?
(please list all jobs you've held in the past)

I will only list Manager as I have no "NPC Admin" though I have people who help with NPCs.

My only experience is working on PWs for since I started graal (around year 2000, version 1.4). That is what I do, that is all I do. Though, I have had positions such as NPC admin on a few worlds, but those were times of inexperience and learning. Currently, I am working on GK and mainly on this PW.

5) About how long do you think it will take until you are ready to submit what you have created?
Another idiotic question. Games with staff of hundreds create todays 3d games, which are amazing. We are a step behind technology, but with more advanced programs...so I would say about equal to companies when they had hundreds of staff in the SNES time. What I am trying to say, is back then it took 1-3, possibly 4, years to make the superb games. I expect around the same...keep in mind by submit I mean "complete". That is to say...all currently planned/desired actions have been implemented.

Keep in mind. Skill and ability to create should not be measured by time, rather innate talent. You either can do something great, or you can't. When I first started graphics, it took a month or 2 to get to the graphics style of Murasamune. Right now I can make better graphics, faster. I feel at a certain level, you are capable of creating anything, but some things take much longer then others. The only way you progress is in the time it takes...that is where I am now. I suppose the same applies to NPC scripting, but a added optimization area, plus you need to have knowledge with math....but anyway my point was talent is main, while experience is second.

Oh yeah, and I got my ISP fixed about a day after I posted by "Bad News" thread, I just didn't bother posting on the forums ;).

Heck no. Design is things like play balancing, combat systems etc. Quality of design is obviously constrained by quality of scripting. Graphics are of very little importance.

Technically there probably isn't a person in the world who could script anything they wanted.

I have to argue with you on that. Scripting, design, and graphics go hand in hand.

It's totally possible to make an entertaining playerworld, with minimal basic scripting.

Just because a playerworld has uberterrific scripts doesn't mean one with simple scripts couldn't be better. For example, there are simple scripted puzzle games that far outsell some of the more complex scripted games on the market. I'm talking games that anyone could script within a week of learning HOW to script.
