Newbie Priest

Hi. I'm planning on restarting my character to a Priest, but I'm not sure what starting stats are high, and which are low.

Does anyone know what the max stats a Priest can roll, including HP and MP? If not then what stats would be considered average? I don't want to get my character to a high level and then find out that my stats are really crappy. o.o;

And also, which weapon would you recommend using?

Priest usually get average stats like 16 in everything with the exception of wisdom which you can get 21 in. I recommend using a flaming sword of govannon or leucetious and you learn any "cause wounds" spell A.S.A.P.

Alright. Thanks Chris.

Govanno all the way, and there is no such thing as "max stat." Max you can roll is 20, unless you get negative class bonuses or positive ones.

Vlad, all classes have predefined "max" stats -_-
Example: Barbarians have a natural -7 pow there-fore the max pow with a Barb is 13.

I dunno, I could have misinterpreted what you said x.x

What are warriors max stats? o_O

Kaiser2 03-27-2003 07:18 AM

The lowering of stats because of a class are random (there are around 5 or 6 stat changes that can occur when you start, but it's usually only one of those few.) And Chris, I mentioned the stat changes on classes, but you should've known that I already said it >.>

Class ; STR ; DEX ; CON ; INT ; WIS ; POW ; CHA ; Net +/-
Alchemist ; -3 ; 0 ; -1 ; +3 ; 0 ; +1 ; 0 ; 0
Barbarian ; +3 ; +2 ; +3 ; -6 ; -1 ; -1 ; -2 ; 0
Priest ; -2 ; -2 ; -1 ; 0 ; +3 ; +2 ; +2 ; 0
Sorcerer ; -3 ; +2 ; -3 ; +3 ; -2 ; +3 ; -1 ; 0
Thief ; 0 ; +3 ; -2 ; +1 ; -1 ; -1 ; -3 ; 0
Warrior ; +2 ; +1 ; +1 ; -2 ; -1 ; -1 ; 0 ; 0

These are added/subtracted after you roll your stats and choose your character. If you roll 17 in strength for Alchemist, you'll end up getting 14 instead.

I've already said this before in another thread. That is random there. All those that you mentioned will not occur at once. As a warrior, all I got was a wis+1 bonus...
