New Business

Lyndzey and I are starting a new business. We collect gold and iron to sell to shopkeepers, get money for house flags, sell houses, and YOU, yes, you get to own one if you pay the rent of 100 plat per month. We will have people volunteer to go hunting for food, sort of like a tribe.

Before you say what a STUPID idea this is, hear me out. The rotation of food is monthly. Let's say there are 12 tenants. Player A does it the month of January, and so on. The corporation will be set up on one of the small islands.

Please PM me on Graal Kingdoms if you want an apartment or if you have any questions. Thank you.

Can you explain this...but a little bit better? so I can devise a mental image?

So basically you would be setting up houses to rent to players so that they wouldn't have to build and maintain their own? It's a nice idea, but what about the trust issue? I don't know how GK handles houses, but it's gotta be one of the following possibilities:

1) One key per house, in which case you give the dude the key and have to trust that he'll give it back.
2) Multiple keys per house, all keyholders considered equal owners. In this case, you have to trust that he won't change the locks or share the house or whatever.
3) Multiple keys per house, single owner. This is better for you, but they have to trust that you won't raid their houses. They'd be trusting you to look after things which took hours to maintain, and many people will be reluctant.

Lyndzey and the other guy get a master key, the other people get a dupe key to just access the house. The house would be already furnished default in every house, and the tenant wouldn't be allowed to move anything around (He can't cant anyway).

The tenant can make chests to store his things in and get his own key, so that way theperson renting the house couldn't steal his things some how. :)

I am a landlord, and the worst part about it IS the tenants. OMG all they do is complain and complain!!

I guess it could be more like a tavern then an apartment.

and a simple yes or no poll would have done fine, I don'y know why people always put 10 options

Ok, you give em a dupe key. They build walls and a fort gate, of course, if you're in that kingdom, you can tear it down, but still...

Problem: What happens if the house decays? The chest is destroyed?

Suggestion: How about a bank? A house with lots of chests each belonging to a different person, where they can all go to store their stuff.
