Medic Kit

We've got First Aid Balms, Pep Bread, Healing Potions - nobody uses them, nobody wants them because it's way too much hassle to go into your inventory, find a potion, and use it while fighting a TRex - nor waste one when they could possibly heal for free in a quiet little corner.
This is too bad, as these potions may well save your life (and 4*level plats!)

New kind of bag - Medic Kit, like the "bag" icon but with a red cross logo. Only healing items can go into it, they're used automatically when your health hits 0, maybe highest first (since it IS in battle after all) - you fight a skeleton, it nearly kills you, you heal and keep fighting. THAT'D be worth 50p to me...and I don't even fight anymore! ^_~

That is a good idea. It would be useful, auto heal, like you auto-eat when hungry.

Selzar 03-22-2003 07:00 AM

Yeah but.
I think there should be herbs like heal 25 health, sells for 15 plat, at a local vendor, possibly a new shop, a MEDIC shop, selling the medic bag along with all the other items.

Tyhm 03-22-2003 09:51 AM

Why herbs? No NPC Shops dude, just buy it off an Alchemist, they'll sell to you for 15 rather than to the shop for 10.

Healing potions and magic power potions could be made a tad cheaper too hmm? 500 plat for one of either is not what I call good investment....

Kaimetsu 03-22-2003 10:49 AM

So... wouldn't a person with a hundred full heal items be virtually invincible?

MasterNuke 03-22-2003 11:01 AM

Good point...

Tyhm 03-22-2003 11:03 AM

For the first 100 potions, yes, then they become totally vulnerable.

Disabled in Battle Arenas I suppose. But then wouldn't all curative items need to be anyway?

So what we're saying is that people can buy immortality?

Tyhm 03-22-2003 11:45 AM

What else do you define potions to be?
Should we have them not heal?
Or have a necessarily complicated interface?

It'll have to be a smallish medic kit. Maybe you can only fit in 10 potions max. Maybe only 3, maybe only 1 between reloads.

Things that people drink to restore their health. Key word: Drink. You have to drink them. Most potions don't automatically inject themselves into your bloodstream as soon as they realise you've been hurt.

And drinking takes time.

Tyhm 03-22-2003 08:58 PM

*shrugs* So it'd take time still. Maybe it kicks in when you're at 5. You spend half a second using an item...it'd be cooler if all item use took half a second, not just automatics, so you can actually see your character eating, etc...

That's fine, but if you're at 6 and something hits you for ten then you should be dead. No miracle potions jumping in to save your life.

Have potions capable of being caried of your belt like diablo and you press button responding to the proper belt slot.

Kaiser2 03-23-2003 04:47 PM

Yeah, or they appear below the status bars and stuff and you can click on them.
